    Title:
Crash in the beginning of character creation (Ubuntu, build 372)

    Reproduction Rate:
    Always

    Blocker?
    Yes

    Details:
The Linux client build 372, standalone client, after typing in the new character name, loads the initial character creation scene, shows the avatar quickly flying out into space, after which the client crashes.

Occasionally, if I don't move the mouse, I might see some nearby plant leaves waving in the wind for a few seconds, before ejecting into space and crashing the client. I also might occasionally be able to postpone the ejection+crash for a little while by moving forward (w key) and circling about with the q or e keys.

I haven't been playing for a release or two, but this behavior seems to be rather similar to how the Linux client used to behave in R28-R29 when dying (becoming a ghost).

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a new character, type in the name of the character, press 'Proceed', wait for the Isle of Storms scene to load.
    2. Observe the crash.

    OS: Linux 4.4 Ubuntu 16.04 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz (8) System RAM: 15967
GPU: GeForce GTX 870M/PCIe/SSE2 GPU RAM: 3GB

either use the 32-bit executable just for the initial charater creation, or start pressing w just before the scene loads and run for the mirror without ever stopping.

@Alley Oop, thanks for the workaround :)

*sigh* So the Linux client issues are still persisting..

That is correct. It's set as one of our highest priority issues needing resolution, along with the persisting crash cases.
