Title: Creature kill count stuck on Steam

Reproduction Rate: I only have one steam account, and it's been a while since the last wipe.

Blocker? It blocks me from attaining at least 2 achievements.

Details: I started my first character before the server wipe. This character I started only two or three months ago. I always 'login using steam'. I figured it would take a little while to reach and surpass 144 mobs killed, but it's been a while and I'm pretty sure I have surpassed that number already. I've killed skeletons, zombies, wolves, stags, spiders, all sorts of mobs, but nothing so far. The counters are stuck at 144 and won't increase at all.

Steps to Reproduce: Start a new character on Steam. Destroy a few mobs and make sure the counter follows your progress. Experience a server wipe. Start another new character on Steam. Destroy more mobs than your original count. Notice the count doesn't increase anymore.

I think this is a known issue; achievements don't seem to be working at all (or at least, consistently) right now.

 

What "server wipe" are you talking about ? A Steam server wipe ?
Shroud hasn't had one.

 

My steam achievements have been stuck for a long time now. I just gave up on it.

 

That Steam achievement is a known bug The others seem to work OK

 

I've been stuck on crafting items as well, so its not just that one.

 

@Browncoat Jayson ah ok - I just hit the 5000 item crafting one last week, so - maybe it's a per-user issue? @DarkStarr said something previously on a telethon that the issue was Steam changing their API around too frequently to stay on top of it, but I suspect it's something else - since some achievements work and some don't - and it's apparently different per user, like you're experiencing..

 

In case anyone didn't know, you have to start the game through steam not the standalone client which had baffled me for a while... then I felt silly cause it was quite obvious

 

Is it possible to play the game with a Steam account without using the Steam launcher? (I didn't think it was ..?)

 

Yes. I purchased one game via Steam and can log in using a standalone client. You may even be able to run the game from the Steam folder directly, but haven't tried it.

 

Work for me: crafting items, player kills, quest/story related achievements
Don't work for me: creature kills, Discover Braemar, Discover Owls Head

 

I've had similar success with these achievements, though I haven't tried out player-kills, and I've already got the Braemar achievement. I also didn't want to start the Love questline since I heard it was having problems.

I just did this one again a week or two ago, since it 'came unstuck' and unachieved itself. Works for me!
