    Howdy adventurer!

Excited to go explore all those new locations? (You do know what the new locations are, don't you? If not check here)

We here at deCani Tour understand you want to get started right away, but you don't know where to turn! That's natural because you've never been there before. But I have! So here I will share some brief tips that you can keep in your pocket and may help guide your travels.

    • From Ardoris, go a little west to the West Perennial Trail and South Brightbone Woods
      • keep heading west and you'll see a fork
        • Right (north) to Brightbone Pass or
        • keep going west to Restless Woods and Necropolis Entrance
    • From Arodois go east to East Perennial Trail and Veilied Swamp
      • Continue to follow the path farther north to get to Solace Bridge along the way, you'll find Soltown
        • From Soltown, take the path west along the base of the Whiteguard Mountains through the Celestial Wetlands to get to Solania
    • From Solace Bridge follow the path north and east thru the sandy area to get to:
      • Grunvald Shardfall
      • Southern Grunvald Barrens
      • Northern Grunvald Barrens
    • From Solace bridge, just north, take the path across the river to the west into Solace forest and follow path to get to:
      • Spectral Mines
      • North Brightbone woods
    • From Grunvald Shardfall, head west towards the forest to the path then South to get to:
      • Deep Savrenoc Timberland
        • keep going west up the hill to Savenroc Stronghold or
        • head north along the path to Savrenoc Timberland
          • keep following this path north to see the beginnings of Brittany (can’t enter) - or can just head north from Grunvald Shardfall
    • From Brittany, follow the path West then southwest a long way and you will come to a fork after a rickety wooden bridge
      • (From the Bridge turn and look east to see Blackblade lava flowing into the Bay of Storms)
      • Left (west) -> Vertas Pass (snowy/mountain area)
      • Right (north) -> dead end
    • From Brittany, take the path south along the Shimano river (on the west side) and you will shortly come to a fork
      • Right (west) -> Bridge across the Shimano to Blackblade Pass entrance (a little south)
      • Left (south) trail to a fork
        • Take the right (southwest) branch to another fork
          • Left (west) stone bridge across the river – dead end, but has a view of Blackblade lava dumping into bay
          • Right (northeast) back up towards Blackblade pass
        • Take the left (southeast) -> Brightbone Pass
    • From Vertas Pass follow the path north/northwest
      • Boat to Verdantis Shardfall

These are rough directions, but should hopefully point you in the right direction! You do know where you want to go, right?

And when you're out there...don't panic! Soon you'll be able navigating the lands like your own backyard.

There is an overview of the Hidden Vale here

And don't forget to stop by our office anytime to view the latest maps we have on display.

Thanks! Great links. I'm allergic to office life. It reminds me of my pre Avatar days. I'll meet you on the trails instead!

So mr deCanis, a small complaint regarding your pocketbook.
Some of the new sewer scenes are very hard to find entrances to, like Ardoris placing a "sewer" entrance on a hill...
But these new scenes are not covered by your otherwise excellent book.

SPOILER: Don't click if you like a little mystery and excitement in your life.

If you get hopelessly lost when underground, you might find these interactive maps* I made for Soltown Sewers, Solania Catacombs and Ardoris Sewers of some use.

CAVEAT: Sewers, dungeons and labyrinths are more fun without maps. Using maps deprives you of fun. Fun that you have paid good money for. Use only as a last resort if like me you are easily confused, or suffer from claustrophobia or panic attacks. Requires Unity web player download.

    * Possibly incomplete or incorrect. Use at own risk. No responsibility taken for misadventure at the hands of local denizens.

Hmm. Pressing 5 in the middle of the numpad keys (with or without the CTRL key) should zoom you in and out. Maybe it has something to do with NUM LOCK key?

EDIT: Just checked. You need to have NUM LOCK enabled (top left numpad key). Make sure you try the other numpad keys that have various movement functions.

...Unless you draw your own ones, like I do, since the days of Adventure, Zork and Bard's Tale. ;)

Unfortunately, with the advent of the intarwebs, it's all too easy to find references everywhere.

At this point, I wonder why not giving everyone in game an automap feature. The obsession about "no handholding" in the era of google holds no water whatsoever.

I liked the in game map in Fallout 3, that only showed you areas that you had already visited:

I'm a brand new player and I was so lost navigating around the world the first time in game (I still am lost just btw). This is exactly what I needed. Would be better if something functionally equivalent was in game and would build up as you explore, but this works too. It would be great if all zones (e.g., is Hidden Vale the only other one?) had such directions.

I bet it was Num Lock on your keyboard :)

And Womby, an absolutely brilliant job!
I was halfway through making a 2d map of the sewers before I found your Unity versions.
Trying to map 3d "/loc" co-ordinates into 2d graphics was really confusing especially when the only difference was the z co-ordinate.
You have saved me a lot of time by visualising three dimensions. I thank thee.

I'll credit you on future 2d sewer maps.
Now any idea of how to map Port Mirren in 2d graphics? It is huge and 3 dimensional !
