Deep Dive – Combat, Magic, & Affinity MARCH 31, 2014

Thanks Fireangel....it's nice to be able to read this when I cannot see the videos.


I'm hoping the card based decks are more akin to Dominions then magic the gathering.

Also, I have to admit I was a bit taken back about how many times MMO was mentioned by the devs, more then in the past. I did like the mention of solo parts of the game like throne rooms and such though.

 

I don't know about Dominion, but they did mention Hearthstone a few times, more than Magic the Gathering.

 

Having played Dominion a fair bit, I'm not sure any comparison to real time online combat is going to be appropriate.

There are a few overpowered cards we never play with anymore, though... those were pretty easy to spot after a few games.

Strictly as a "you can pick cards to put in the play deck" ?
Sure, Dominion fits as well as any card game you prepare a deck ahead of time or alter the standard deck for play. 500, Euchre, or Piquet, for example.

I watched about 50 minutes of the PVP deep dive today and it was torture! I can't just sit and listen to someone talk - it takes for ever and makes me itch all over. I much prefer reading.
