This is driving my nuts. I have some newbie items such as a hoe and some recipes I don't need. Don't want to leave them around, but when I try to delete them, the option isn't there. I can understand why that option was removed, but I hate clutter, especially of stuff I don't need. I can't sell them because the game won't let me put them up for sale, can't delete them, can't leave them on corpses, can't drop them in NPC containers. I am able to place them in a container and drop the container on my property, which then takes up space.
If I try to delete the container, after placing it in my backpack, it goes red, and doesn't really disappear. After logging out and back in, the container is back with all of those newbie items.

I am open to other suggestions on how to get rid of these (other than trying to trade with someone else).

LOL, I just tried to get rid of that hoe last night. Hmm, can't sell it... oh well, right-click.... um, ???, destroy? I'm like that too, if I don't want it, out it goes, otherwise it's just clutter and my OCD (not the fake kind, diagnosed) goes into overdrive. Every time I open my inventory, I'm like.... damn you, hoe! *shakes fist*

And, of course, no salvage on zero value items.

Someone needs to create a "Trash Man" toon on a second account. Walk around Novia collecting all these unwanted items, and then delete the toon (which should remove the items from game if still in inventory). Then make the toon again and start over, nice roll play opportunity :)

Although, I think a lot of these items are also non-trade to close some loopholes.

I wonder how difficult it would be to program a trash can you could put anything in for permanent disposal.

I would prefer to just delete it into oblivion.

Personally, I think that unwanted items that you can't really get rid of just takes up space. Why not just implement a trash can system like UO had.

Agree completely. I wish Portalarium would place something like this in game.

Wrong. I have my hoe of prosperity tool equipped. The hoe tool that I want to delete is the newbie tool that was in my bank as a starting tool. It just won't delete. Try it and find out yourself :D

    Not equipped.

Edit: Condensed all of my thoughts into one post.

I just want to make this point clear that it isn't just about the hoe. I am also having the same issue with two recipes from the Supply Cache Patch Pack that I want to delete as well.
Anyways, only two productive suggesting on a trash system which would be the most logical way to do this. If UO can do this, then why not in SOTA?

I have a cabinet full of 'unwanted junk' that I can't delete wedged between my hot tub and the wall so it just looks like a tabletop

At this point, that is exactly what I've done, until I can come up with a more permanent solution. :D
