Discussion in 'The College of Arms' started by Lord Kiron Maedun, May 13, 2014.
Please make sure you send a PM to Lord Kiron about this.
Here is the First Edition of our style guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GS5cnonFUuimKdK8EW8G0PjJuqP04psazji_gqgcvQs/edit?usp=sharing
Please note that charges/designs DO have to be identifiable and blazonable (described in a couple of words such that it can be recreated by someone else)
Thank you, Draconny Queen. That confirms what I already thought I knew and brings everyone else up to my level of understanding.
Many thanks to you and the College for providing this.
The credit mostly goes to Bajan for collecting and organizing all the "bits" into a cohesive document.
i did, thanks.
Are we limited to using two-tone charges for this contest?
In my opinion (which doesn't necessarily reflect the opinion of the College), a good design is more important than the number of colors in a charge.
However, you are asked to adhere as closely as you can to our established style.
Much like Frank, I would label that as "a good idea", but not absolutely necessary.
Any update on this?
Yes it would be good to clear up the final prizes before the end. For example will those additional prizes form a runner-up prize? or 2nd and 3rd places?
I have my submission ready, just waiting until the 9th to submit.
Remember you can PM it to Lord Kiron at any time. As I understand it he will make the final anonymous submission to the judges.
You so silly.
That is correct, I am the only one that knows whose design actually belongs to who, and the judges will not know when they are deciding either.
Delaying might be a tactic, however, remember that if a previous submission was submitted that is close enough to yours that yours doesn't meet the colleges rules in that regard, than the first submission will be accept and I will notify the other of the problem; thought that happening is probably very unlikely.
Working to get the details finalized, expect an update before the weekend.
Kiron, are you replying to confirm submissions that you receive?
I am replying to every submission and updated submission I receive, however am slightly behind on that due to work, about to respond to my inbox now.
Design submitted. Good luck to all the contestants.
