I suggest extending it out a little directly in front, so we can kneel and roleplay getting the buff.

    @Vladamir Begemot

Wouldn't it work better if they gave you a target reticle for the devotional, then when you targeted it, it would automatically make you walk to the front, kneel down, you get a short timer, and when the timers finished, you get the buff?

Seems a bit confusing the way it works now.

Jumping into the water, where that giant light beam emanates from, seems confusing? The first time I saw a devotional, jumping in was exactly what I thought I was supposed to do.

Yep, especially since its not that easy to jump in; its not like there's steps leading into the font :D

At first I didn't know what to do and asked someone.

Replacing the bit in the front with steps would be logical.

To clarify that a bit, when I try to jump in over the side I don't always make it; my avatar sticks a bit. So often its hard to find the right spot where I can actually jump in.

It would help if the devs added climbing to the game ... it would be a key press to bring you over low obstacles to start, like in Witcher 3, and be functionally no different than jumping except easier for the purpose of climbing and visually look like you're climbing.

(It would also be nice to climb out of the ocean onto rocks too, when they're too high to step onto)

I think the range is OK - otherwise players will have a harder time avoiding them and getting unintended blessings.. (or make it a clickable thing..)

You don't actually need to jump into the devotional. If you stand in one of the notches at the front and jump straight up, that works too.

Actually I expect a different behavior from devotionals all along.

No radius needed, you just have to click them

Instead of automatically granting you a bonus, offers you 2 choices: pay your respect to devotionals, so you get virtue buffs (and virtue increase) or desecrate the altars and get different, antivirtues buffs (for instance, desecrate a spirituality altar, gets carnality buff). And take a hit on that virtue.

Oh yes... for virtue and anti virtue you get a long cooldown to try again. Maybe instead of 9 hours, you get 1 full britannian month (a day).

PS: maybe make this work for NPC devotionals, making them the "real" ones.

A targeting keypress on the devotional could also automatically make you climb into it :D That's an option.

Though then you're creating a climb animation you could use other places, too....

Yes that would be great, I just didn't want to complicate it, they are busy.

Lol no, bathing in devotionals just seems like a fail to me.

Please skip the kneeling part. Even though they are called devotionals does not mean all us players would feel comfortable doing this. Jumping in, approaching, clicking.. all good, but kneeling NO.

OKay, but going into the waters of a devotional is basically a form of baptism...

Ok, so going back to allowing us to choose, make the range far enough we DON'T have to be baptised, and then we can if we want, and we can kneel of we want, or we can do a little cooky dance.

I wish they'd go back to being able to just stand in front of the Devotional. Not sure why they felt the need to change it up.

Because it was too easy to have a blessing from another devotional override a blessing that you already have by simply passing to close to that devotional.

I spend more time trying to jump in the devotional pool than I ever did going back to a devotional that was overridden by accident from another one. If they're going to keep things as-is, I hope they at least lower the walls to make the jump easier. Takes me awhile to time it just right.

As I said previously, you don't need to actually jump into the pool.
