died in a Plains encounter and after travelling to the Ankh and resurrecting never quite finished

I died in a Plains encounter and after travelling to the Ankh and resurrecting never quite finished materializing. I was invisible, the rest of the encounter was still displayed as 'will o wisp' forms. But after a while, the wolves found me and killed me again.

Resurrecting again left me with a black screen, the wolves killed me quickly again. No hotkeys worked, but I could hear the wolves attacking.

I quit back to the menu and then re-entered on the world map, which resolved my issue.
