Different Races....Please? One Day?

I'm very new to SotA. I'm loving this game so much even though I just started playing a couple months ago. The community to this game is like nothing I've come across since UO, its very inviting. I can't believe I've just now come across it. I'm a long time fan of the Ultima series, and basically everything Richard Garriott. I'm just curious when we might be able to play other races, not just humans. Also, sometimes when my character is running on inclines of the terrain, maybe its just me, but it looks like the Avatar's ankles are broken. No biggie, just thought it was funny.

There are blacks, whites, asians in the game... what's the complaint?

I'd definitely be in favor of a race system with the possibility of mixing races. I know at least one person who would probably like to play as some sort of troll mixed with hobbit.

 

I mean where are the playable gargoyles and elves? + I really want a provoking skill....

 

Is that how we got these guys then, lol?

 

I instant dwarf if I could. I love playing as a dwarf, roleplaying as a dwarf, talking like a dwarf. I would dwarf hard.

 

Episode 2 will be coming with playable elf race.

 

We need different races at once!!! D&D Style!! =)

I would really enjoy if i could play as Kobold or even as a Satyr!

 

In video and tabletop gaming I think there is a pretty large camp who like playing anything but human as part of their fantasy make-believe. There are players who revel in playing specific races like (Blood/Night) Elf, Dwarf, etc.

I can generally appreciate these races even if I'm more of a fan of sticking with human for my characters. It's when you start getting a lot of silly races that a game's serious-fantasy tone starts to erode. It's apparent the creative vision very much had that in mind.

As for Elves, I'm not certain how big of a hit they'll be for players who gravitate toward Tolkien/Night/Blood Elves. SotA elves have less of that graceful beauty and more of a nosferatu visage! Unless there is an easier-on-the-eyes cousin race of Elves on another continent...

 

I'm confused why there are no orcs in SotA. Has that been addressed somewhere?

 

The obsidians never got around to making them.
