Disappearing plant stalks!

reproducable: 100% (well I had 10, now it shows none but I assume they are still there)
Blcoking: no, just annoying
short desc: after 24 hours my garlic stalks disappeared
steps:

plant some garlic, immediately water it after (well I watered 9, and not 1 to find if it mattered)
nearly 24 hours later, the spots looked dry, so I watered them again, then within an hour or so all stalks were missing.. but they may still be there - Im not sure, cos after you water plants it just shows as bed until it needs watering again!

You can see on the right the watered spots, but no stalks


PS - when it dried out it still says the garlic is there, but still invisible!
