Does any..stop and talk to other players on the overland map

Good news! You still can, but the names have changed. Brittany and Dara Brae.

 

This raises an interesting point... Even when talking with online friends it happens to me that we start chatting via whisper/guild/party and never swap to local. I guess that's why you see a lots of player staring at each other in some places...

I think all this could improve if the local chat is changed so it becomes the way of choice for conversation... but it's hard to defeat how convenient the other forms of chat are

Most of the time people dont see me talking and then whisper me later

I wish there was an easier way to wave. Perhaps when you can hot-key emotes I'll wave as I walk by.

It's kind of a bummer that the game appears to reward you for playing single-player mode to aquire resources/creatures.

Some games have a "best" spot to go to for resources but there's competition for them too, so you balance how many people are likely to be there, how dangerous the area is, how good the yields are - but here everyone can turn on single-player mode and harvest away.

 

Smell them flowers!

 

Slightly off topic, but I'd love to have an optional emote bar I could slap in the upper right section of the screen (between the directional compass and the tool bar) or along the right side below the skill-up's bar.

My out of combat bar is way too crowded to drop emotes there.. even if it was an option.

I would say Hi or wave back but by the time I see that someone said something to me, then figure out or remember how to respond to them - they are usually long gone probably thinking I have snubbed them - lol

I do! I love meeting people on the overland map.

 

Still pipe dreaming about the big mega community, but reality is proving to be a much harder task than dreaming. But will keep trucking. Maybe someday my dream will come true.

 

Sometimes I feel like I never get anywhere for stopping to wave at people. Folks probably think I'm a bit simple or something sometimes, but I like small towns where everyone waves, haha. I won't if a player is obviously trucking along with no intention of stopping, but generally try to be friendly

at present I don't generally stop but that is because I'm checking out something new or specific and am waiting on release before making friends partly due to where I am going to live and also partly because I don't feel its applicable atm

 

On occasion I do. Though it would be nice when the voice option is available. Then you could talk to them before they have run too far away

 

I have never seen anyone on the overland. Might be because I play SPO, but you never know lol.
