Something for the wish list: to give Dukes a double-sized city lot.

Not sure any sort of wall is necessary, not even a small one, that is an additional perk that LOTMs can have.

    Here's the science part:

Barons paid $3K for a city lot.
LOTMs paid $10k, which is almost 4x $3k, and receive a 4x city lot.
Dukes paid $5k, which is almost 2x $3k, exactly half of $10k, so a 2x city lot seems fitting.

Yes, I know there are also B2s and B3s who paid a different amount. I'm also aware that founders / benefactors pay different amounts. I opted for a simple explanation.

I support Joviex supporting flying monkeys.

But only if the flying monkeys support the original post. ;)

I agree, there seem sto be a gap among lot sizes of Lotm and Barons...if compared to Dukes.

I guess Dukes should be able to get something like a Keep Lot: which is different from normal city Lot.

5000$ are quite a good jump of hope....

The LOTM castle lot took me by surprise. I thought the whole housing thing was basically settled. I'm not the first to suggest the idea of a 2x lot but figure it is worth asking.

Personally, I stopped at the "Baron" level because there was nothing at "Duke" that interested me. An egregiously large plot *would* definitely make me reconsider my stance though.

However, personally I feel that changing it up now would necessitate more work for the dev-team :
    • They would need to revamp all town maps they have already created to fit new plots
    • And it also gives the impression that one should have special Duke specific housing that fits that plot-size as well, increasing the load on the housing creators.
However, if the devs feel they can fit it into their schedule: Woot. :)

They just reworked the map for the LOTMs. There could be 20 LOTMs at launch. There is only going to be 10 Dukes; although it feels like there are more. So probably not going to e as much work as they just put in.

Now that LOTMs are outside the city lot areas (a guess) then those 20 spaces are freed up, plus the devs have said that not all lots will be sold at launch. You have seen this right? It is the same house but a bigger 'garden' and an added wall.

Dukes could be have two city lots amalgamated together. It would be less than half as impressive as the LOTMs, but that isn't so bad. House doesn't need to change either. So no increased load.

The Lord of the Manor lots were always presumed to be separate and distinct, so the devs could have easily ignored creating those particular maps until just now.

I get where you are going in regards to replacing two contiguous City lot spaces with a Duke-sized plot, however even then it still takes a certain amount of effort depending on how many town maps are already in the pipe. :)

I'm sorry but nothing was presumed. Like the dukes they were given a single city plot. Not "here's a city lot and you'll get more later". They got a rare game in their pledge tier as well, one that is worth serious coin.

As to the rest, there are half as many dukes so it's significantly less work and it would be easier to add sets of 2 then trying to to fit in sets of 4.

Ah, then I assumed incorrectly. I figured having separate LOTM lots was just an idea that backers had. I just assumed that LOTMs would be in regular city lots like we saw in Owl's Head.

They are a talented team, I'm sure they can figure it out. ;-)

Ah, I see where I went wrong. I read the "Castle with Keeps" portion of the goodies as this special construct we are now seeing. In actuality, that is simply how they describe the waterfront house.

My bad on that then. :)

So the LotM thing is really going to trickle down then? How far will the trickling trickle?

I imagine the physical logistics play into why it's not happening; to double all the Dukes immediately halves all the space... in an already space-constricted environment.

Would the devs be savouring that idea? As much as they love people who have pledged Duke, I'd say not!

They didn't seem to have any problems quadrupling the size of the LOTM lots - and there more LOTM pledges than Dukes.

Well, enlarging the lots of people who spent $10k before anyone else makes sense on a pure numbers level, ie: they spent the most; they spent a lot. I don't think anyone could disagree with that.

Then when they look at the amount of land left, if it's not practical to start enlarging any of the smaller package's lots, then they won't enlarge them. I don't think that's unusual.
