I am hoping that it would take a whole lot of people to kill one, if i can kill it alone i will be sad.

Maybe it'll be a nice magical dragon, and you can go play with it in a meadow with rainbows.:p

The only concern I would have is balancing. Though if the current crafting model remains as it is we're mainly only looking at a single added property and hopefully an appearance change, which I'm totally cool with. So long as we don't have uber armor that everyone wants because of superior stats.

Quest dragons would be cool. And yeah, if we can kill them they should take a group effort. Dragon scale armor would be awesome.

They haven't talked about for awhile but devs have indicated you shouldn't be able to solo a dragon. I hope that remained true.

I have not seen if they could be tamed or not. I do not want to derail the thread, dragon armor will be nice. but I hope we can eventually tame them also.

I remember taming was a hot topic 2 years ago. If we can't kill dragons solo then a tamed dragon would just be over powering. As cool as it might be, it's not something I think is a good fit for balance concerns.. (that and I'd like to see them remain special).

I would like to see quests that involve dealing with dragons somehow.. apart from having to kill one.

    I see your point..
I would also like them to remain special.

Oh! Psuedos! That was an alternative suggestion to dragons that I really liked! Not babys.. but miniatures. I had forgotten about that one.

I am really excited about dragons coming into the game. I will try not to build them up so much I will be disappointed, and hopefully there is an interesting plan for them. So I agree about the dragon skin, scales heart, claws etc should be usuable. I'm hoping our dragons will be really cool looking majestic and special. It would be nice if dragons were a rarer sighting, not just standing around at the same place same time type of thing. Killing one would be quite a feat or hopefully so.;) I'm not a dragon fan or anything;) Smaug from the movie the Hobit is my all time favorite dragon.:)

The last time I saw an intelligent dragon was this game, and a hobbit movie. Too many games have mindless monster after monster, intelligent dragons would be a nice change.

Speaking of Ultima dragons.. there was also the hyrdra on Ambrosia and a dragon in the Silver Seed expansion for Serpent Isle you could talk to. :) Dragons in UIX weren't given any dialogue that I can remember but were portrayed as intelligent.

Only a slight derail, parallel materials in general would be nice. Where a harvester can harvest wood and shape it into a handle, shaping a dragon bone into a handle would be a nice option. Its a nice balance between the two worlds of "harvested base resources only" and letting powerful mobs drop usable gear - rendering crafters pointless. Allowing an adventurer to replace a material with a rare drop or such keeps the two teams working together well, and can make for more end-game adventuring once gear officially breaks. I would assume dragons would be one of the best sources of such; teeth, bones, and scales could swap in for a buckle, handle, or leather in our already existing recipes.

It would be good to get ingredients, but not for armour. Dragons/dragon armour is so... Cliche. I am hoping dragons have almost no focus in this game.

If anyone can solo a dragon i will be so pissed i may go bananas on the forums. I am praying Dragons are for full sized parties and a healer is absolutely necessary.

I have to agree that killing these Dragons should be rare and their appearance should be rare. Maybe Dragons can be used to attack player owned cities and the city member can pull together to kill it or to hurt it and make it fly away. Killing a dragon should be rare and not an easy task. The Dragon should not be in a zone where we can kill it every 5 minutes. Please do not do this devs!!
