    They've said in the past that they want as many people testing this as possible, which is why the Alpha/Beta access was given to the lowest pledge tiers. I've not seen any indication that they're going to stop that. I only hope they have the capacity to handle even the existing users and have the ability to quickly scale if it spikes.

    I too hope they can handle the large amount of testers... I know they have to stress test it, and work that out. With as many people they are allowing access, I can imagine they are planning ahead. I personally would hate not being able to alpha/beta play test, after paying for a spot to do so.
    I know I know, the money goes to fund an amazing finished project. I'm excited to see that happening, and I'm sure Lord British(and team) will deliver! I'm still looking my sweet appetizer before dinner! ;)

    A concern I share as well. Considering the intermittent problems we've been having lately posting at various times on this server (not confined to peak or maintenance times), I'm afraid the sudden influx of users on the test server on Day 1 of the first window might cause the whole system to crash :(

    These things -never- go as planned. Best you can hope for is to be able to log in the first weekend and not much more. They might extend it by a day though if there are lots of problems.

    Well when it comes to any MMOs beta I always expect connectivity issues. As this is alpha I just expect them more. Which is one of the reasons I requested they release the client for download a few days ahead of time.

    That's the truth, but I've never paid for alpha/beta access. Even though I know there will be issues, I'm hoping for a speedy recovery or them to be one step ahead of us. I like the idea you stated, getting the client ahead of time.

    Think of it as a pre-order gave you alpha/beta access :) (You still get the full game with the pledges that give you alpha/beta)
