Elf Surprise...

As my daughter and I were getting ready to go grind out some xp..I told her to eat her Bear and Wolf Surprise before we head out..(she's 5) she starts eating one of them and asks "What about Elf Surprise?" Her favorite thing to kill in game are the elves at Crag Foothills..haha..

So I thought it was a great idea! I'd like some tasty Elf Surprise in the game! Technically not cannibalism?

 

Spoiler: Well...

Technically, elves are made using Obsidian magic to warp humans, so it *would* be cannibalism in part. See the Sword of Midras for details.

Even more to the point, we're supposed to have a playable elf race eventually. So those elf players will be eating Elf Surprise.

@amarious , Btw, if you were to eat a ring-tailed lemur, would it be cannibalism...?

I think this is a quite interesting idea…and would like to add a virtue effect to such food. It might be one of the most beneficial foods but is also reducing your virtue. (large virtue loss if you eat other kinds of feeling being, extreme virtue loss if you eat your own kind)
Oh and do not forget to add kobolds to the list of possible food sources.
If there are in a later episode more mechanics maybe even NPCs could react on your "eating habits". E.g. they get panic attacks or even attack you if they see or smell such food, quest could be granted or refused,…
But as not everyone is interested in getting elven flesh as loot…maybe there could be added some…special skills to the skill tree that are unlocking this additional loot. Maybe a Cannibalism skill you have willingly to choose as some kind of specialization that is blocking other kinds of specializations. E.g.

Cannibalism mastery
Just with these skills active you are able to collect, refine and process cannibalistic resources to create cannibalistic items.

Gut mastery
Just with these skills active you are able to collect, refine and process special components of animals like filet or perfect animal furs.

Scale mastery
Just with these skills active you are able to collect, refine and process scales of all kinds (from fish to dragons).

Maybe alike to the current combat specializations…you can learn them all but you can just have some of them active while the others are set to unlearn and each specialization would offer different recipes, bonuses,...

 

We can have Elf Surprise in the game the day we get Human Surprise in the game... after all.. not technically Cannibalism .. right?

And I have *always* been pro-cannibalism... I am not against this.. just as soon as I can eat humans

maybe the surprise is that it's made of bits of candy that the elves could drop. like redhots in a cake.

I think toasted satyr chops would be a rocking choice... barring the elf surprise.

 

How about elf meat pie, kinda like Frey Pie in GoT?
