I think you got those two emotes wrong, the NPC that gives them is different.

Hi, is the 'bow' emote supposed to be default? I can't seem to do it or find it. I'm also looking for any alternatives if anyone has any suggestions . thanks!

 

Yes.
I used it yesterday and it should be for everyone.

To check if you have a specific emote, then either key [O] or upper right corner the glass arch menu - Emotes.
You should have bow listed there and be able to doubleclick it to execute it.

Or Shift+click someone and then in chat write
/bow

If that one is broken for you then I'd go with
/salute
which you pick up early when taking Stanley's note to Cugel.

Great job, Spoon and appreciated by those who don't want to spend months searching.

 

And since this is a post about emotes, it might be a good place for a general question. I have so many emotes - when I come across someone I want to use an emote on, it takes me forever to scroll down to find the one I want. Half the time the person I wanted to emote to is already gone.

How do you emote fans handle this?

 

Use the relevant text command e.g. /lbsalute /wave

Are there secret words to some of these? I have clicked all the clickable words to Elara Solstar in Desolis and she won't give up her emote.

Depends.

Usually I type them like @Lained suggests. But that usually only works for a few of them that one knows are quick to type and which one can usually get the spelling right for.

However if one has spare buttons on a gamer mouse then one can macro such typing. Which is especially nice if one has a custom emote thingie like
/em greets you with a smile and a bow %bow

There is a typo on the "leanback/left/right". The NPC is "Nob". Not "Knob".

The Shooter emote is actually more rare than that. It is only going to the people who complete the quest and a small group of others that Shooter wanted to thank, like his family. HE is the only one who can award it. I gave a couple out at a party he attended. Besides that I was thinking of having a party to award them to the people on his list, so he can get it done.
