Enchantment glow idea/feedback

I kind of miss my yellow glow.. but maybe after staring at it for so long that's just the crazy talking. I'm sure I'll get used to the new default glow, but that got me thinking. Why does all magic gear glow one specific color? Especially when we have different 'colors' of magic, as demonstrated with the different gem types that enhance magic?

Why not tie the color of the magic glow from enchanting to gem socketting when its present on a chest piece? If you're wearing an enchanted pieces with a regular chest or with one that's doesn't have a gem, everything that glows does so at some default color. If you have a gem socketted chest piece on then everything glows with that color. Wearing a theurgy chest? Yellow glow! Sorcery? Red glow! This would give a bit of distinct flavor to folks specializing their gear towards specific schools of magic.

 

ya or make your glow reflect your virtue ...

I'd like to see color for each virtue..

as for that yellow.. it always made me think somebody fell into a vat of nuclear cat pee

i find the new blue slightly less obtrusive, but i still just want it gone.

 

Sad... no more glowpiss....

 

Guess it should more reflect your armor attunement. But being blueish is better to my eyes right now. Yellow was just too bright.

 

A more subdued glowing in every color would be my own preference if it went this direction. As with the current everything glows blue, it's not a bright bold deep blue, it's more more.. gentle light and soothing blue. A yellow that followed that template for theurgy could be.. not as bad as the old yellow... one would hope.

 

all this glowing stuff makes me dizzy, but blue is tiny bit better than yellow.

 

I think the blue is much better than the yellow.

I do wish that weapon enchants would have different visual effects than the armor.

 

I'd love some glowing runes akin to those seen on the Magical Printing Press.

 

As an adherent to theurgy I'd love to see electricity crackling across my gear..

Will new glow/sparkle dyes cancel out enchantment glow? And is there a way to remove glow to show off regular eq and dyes? I'd like this, but understandable if not. I'd even pay 10 durability or such to effect that change.

Tangentially, what about dyeing something like epic plate armor? Currently dyeable but doesn't show up- is that waiting on improvement or intended?

I'd love to see a light source enchantment too
