You are posting a bunch of stuff like we are doing surprise nerfs on stuff. Please read my post.

Inciting panic among each other is not helpful.

The focus regen is a bug
The enchantment stuff is a bug (although scaling WILL make it act different)

I figured you'd revel in the chaos!

Heh, I jest. Thanks for the update. I had a gut feeling the enchanting was a bug, but I figured the focus might be a nerf when Attenwood marked the bug report as by design, haha.

By the by, isn't it Saturday? When do you rest?

It would be more epic if Starr were to post this on Monday instead.

It was a Friday night forum drama about low focus rate.. like very lowwwww and also about enchantment was way worse even at GM level.

    These were bugs, though.

Sorry if I was so reactionary. I posted about that because if this bug report that was marked "As Designed".

The food buff only out of combat is by design, I guess that's what he meant.

Hmm... that would qualify as a focus regen nerf, yes?

Unofficial response to posts re bugs from a player not employed by, related to nor endorsed by SOTA.

It appears our new update contained several unintended game play modifications. These bugs concern both the regeneration rate of focus (which at present is slower than is intended) and the enchanting of items (which we intended to modify but not as is presently available in game). We work hard every day to implement the amazingly complex, unique and special vision for SOTA that Richard has challenged us all to bring to life. We thank you all for reporting bugs when you find them, and for being an invaluable part of the birth of SOTA. Together our efforts make the game better release by release, despite these unintended and unfortunate setbacks. Thank you all for being a part of this journey, we are proud to have each one of you as part of the SOTA family.

I like that you picked up on what I was "saying". I know @DarkStarr is real passionate about the game, and we probably don't make his life easier. So getting the "why" of it was helpful. Thanks.

Well it turns out I spoke a little too soon. After spending time with my team today digging into the focus regen and enchantment issues it is more complicated than a simple "bug will fix".

First let's talk about Focus Regen: Players have been enjoying out of combat focus regeneration rates for quite a few releases now. We fixed the bug that was causing that which is what you all were experiencing in QA. We realize however that this is way too big a delta in regen rates so we are dialing this back to only being a 33% delta.

Second let's talk about Enchantments: There are several issues going on. First there is a bug related to enchanting skills not leveling up because there is now a skill requirement for major enchants to show up. This will be fixed when that skill leveling bug is fixed. Secondly there was some misunderstanding about enchants on rings vs. other gear. Rings have always had 1 as the base stat modifier (vs. 2 for other gear). What has changed is the incremental progression of the stat (1.1, 1.2, etc.) vs. the random numbers, which in the old system would have been 1 or 2 but you would have only gotten the 2 as an option as a major enchant which is now locked behind a skill requirement and not appearing (see above).

Apologies again for misstating and/or over simplifying this earlier. Feel free to panic now. I mean please do not panic. Here's a picture of me with a towel.

The information about Enchantments sure seems like a huge nerf. You added two skills for us to grind out to 100 to get back to where we were before the nerf. Where is that information in the release notes? What is the level requirement for majors to show up again? How many weapons will we have to grind through to get back to where we were before? Ouch... that is a bunch of gold ingots getting dumped in the trash. Dozens and dozens of weapons that will just have to be thrown away.

Release notes sounds soooo great and wonderful. Implementation makes me cry.
