Did a little test in Elysium Mines.....when I mine ore I'm at 93% success rate. I went in and attempted to mine 39 ore nodes. I failed on 10 of them giving me a failure rate of over 25% when it should be 7%. I know this is not a very large sample rate but it still seem very high compared to what it should be. Just wanted the Chris/Devs to be aware that there may be a math problem. Thanks, Rambo
Hey Rambo, Your experience with the "rng" failure rate is COMPLETELY NORMAL and it's been this way since the beginning. You can see it in everything: Harvesting, crafting, loot drops, fishing.... EVERYTHING ! We've been telling Chris for over six years about it and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. It is a LARGE part of why people have come and GONE. But hey, we have a new smoker....
Should remove the fail altogether GM = 100% success on T5 As far as I can tell, the only purpose it serves is to annoy the player. Maybe some minor RP experience. Same for Harvesting, Foraging, Field Dressing Edit - Should also comment The spawn rates in graff / elysium / spectral suck Used to be able to just go in and mine copper without having to zone out for respawns Old rate was much better
I just want to note that when you fail at harvesting, you still get the full producer experience amount, so it's not a total waste.
Even at 97% I've had it fail 10 times in a row... complete joke and that's why people call it Sota math another reason why this game is still considered beta.
Not because it never happened to you that it never happened at all... It's statistics, and you know what, there is someone out there that probably flipped heads or tails 200 times in a row with only 1 side showing those 200 times, in a row, even though TECHNICALLY it is 50%....
