Stones by far lots of great music but Stones is exceptional
My favorites include:
Ultima III: Castle of Fire
Ultima VI: Character Creation
Ultima VI: Endgame (interleaving Rule Britannia and Audchar Gargl Zenmur)
Ultima Online: Battle on Stones (from Stygian Abyss, I believe)
Ultima 3 combat, ultima 6 creation (listen in MT-32) and intro (heck all of U6), Stones goes without saying (it was my wedding processional). I can still listen to old Apple II+ mockingboard files and be brought back 30 years.
Just to add to all the great tracks mentioned already, I always loved the Tenebrae theme from U8.
I had forgotten about that
I loved the I tried theme as the jewelry box opened. Back in uo:r. That and the Bucs den theme
For those who have not as of yet, check out the soundtrack (free download) of U5: Lazarus, specifically the Character Creation and Stones Remix tracks. Quite a few more great renditions on that soundtrack as well.
UO Vesper and Cove are both really beautiful.
I always liked the music when you played those little "Pan" flutes in U7.
Then the U6 Intro and Boot music are also amazing!
Ultima 6 was my introduction to computer gaming. Nothing else is quite as memorable as being 6 years old and learning how to use computers with your dad.
Ultima Online music was very good, I think it heavily borrowed from previous games, but, that's okay.
I like Ultima 6's "Ultima" song. There is a remade on UO's newer client, but I couldn't find it anymore for some reason. It's at 3:50 min on the video below.
I would love to replay Lazarus but how can I get it to run on W10. D..S. does not seem to run on this platform, any help would be appreciated
I can't run it on my mac anymore either. I think your best bet would be to run via a VM. It is worth playing, if only for the portraits and dialog, it's a glimse of what a remastered Ultima V would look like.
I personally still think there's value in redoing those 2 games (IV and V)
For UO, Forest is mine. Although Stones i love as well of course.
tysm for this link - i now have it playing as background music for sota <3
Greetings all, so I have to admit that I am old.... I started playing U2 on Commodore 64 which had its own sound (SID) chip. To this day I can not hear a harpsichord without thinking of Ultima II and III. So my favorite would be anything played on the Harpsichord.
