Finally making the plunge

    I still play Ultima Online, I know surprising. I have been a long time backer of SotA, but finally too the plunge to really play it. So far I have decorated my house and done some crafting, which I really enjoy. Next step is to actually adventure, I am pretty much just killed wolves, deer, bears and boars (until the freaking obsidian bear shows up). Just wanted to say, "Hi"

    LOL You should not have tried to talk to the Obsidian Bear, they are not very friendly and don't understand English. The only thing they understand is the coldness of my blade or the sting from my arrows. :cool:

    Welcome! Fire up the "looking for group" feature and look for my name (or others) leading an upper tears group. Just teleport over and join in. Many of us love having new people and we can get you a lot of xp really fast and you can learn how groups work in SOTA. Let them know you may need help at first finding the entrance, someone will always help

    SOTA is like UO, pretty complex.

    join a guild for help
    join SOTA discord to ask questions and get help

    Welcome! I didn't stop playing UO till about 2015/16, so know exactly where you are coming from. I was doing scripting for a freeshard and was the admin for it. I love UO and when I first started playing this I thought it was UO in 3D. There are lots of things that still need to be fixed, just like when UO came out, but it has tons of potential, and, hopefully, it will become the next UO. Hope you enjoy yourself in this new, slightly familiar world!

    You're going to want to start saving wolf and bear heads for potions, make the meat for good food buffs, and start growing some plants in your house for cooking as well. Also start collecting as much stuff as possible and organize it by cooking / metal / wood / alchemy / clothes. You can either sell it to NPCs or to players later on in bulk if you collect enough stuff, and you will since this game is grind house
