Just finished my personal Coat of Arms, took probably 4 hours to make it. How do I submit it? I'm of the Collector tier as a Founder so I qualify for the Founder reward of a custom coat of arms. Here is a sample of my Herald....

    In a nutshell, you don't.

I think this is the first use I've seen of this font!
Unfortunately, we're not putting words on the coat of arms.
We decided they could not be read at a distance, and were unsuitable. The best we could imagine was if somebody used two runes, and made them very large, maybe that would be acceptable.
    However, the rest is fine.
We would just need to get one of the artists to make it in SVG form.

We have those devices already, don't we? If not I can probably pick things up this weekend if someone else doesn't do it before hand.

I know we already have an hourglass at least.

We have a skull or two. Not sure I've seen bones go into the database yet.
    We do have the hourglass.

    If text isn't allowed someone is gonna have to inform these peeps;

    http://soacoa.org/wiki/AndiZ275
    http://soacoa.org/wiki/Arina

    http://soacoa.org/wiki/Keenedge
    http://soacoa.org/wiki/Valos_Ravar
    http://soacoa.org/wiki/Bear_Tavern

If it isn't a solid rule I'd like to submit it as-is anyway. The original size is 1,000 pixels tall 1,3000 pixels wide so it's plenty high-res to be modified to SVG.

I can convert the bones to .svg if it is missing.

Neither do I actually. I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen more use of Jolly Roger in user mockups.

As far as informing players....I think we are awaiting communication from the Portalarium team before making any announcements.

    Frank nailed it.

You are correct. Those folks submitted designs before we settled on rules, and we're waiting until we have the coat of arms generator running before we force them to do a rework. Some of them already know it's coming.

    It is a solid rule.

All of the designs are placeholders and not final and are of varying degrees of "fit" for use. They've all been reviewed by the senior COA membership. Even mine will not be exactly the same as you see it there or here (I won't be submitting this bird.)

EDIT: Oh, and what Frank said ;)

I'd not like to use someone else's clipart, I was promised the ability to submit my own custom art, being a professional graphic
artist of 20 years I think mine will work, in addition to that I've been a heraldry enthusiast & artist for 10 years now, have many
dozens upon dozens of pen and paper designs but I'd prefer to w/the old skull crossbones & hourglass. I'm an artist and really
don't like using other people's clipart.

No problem! Post an SVG here, and we'll import it to the database.

In that case I believe you'll have to release your work to public domain - isn't this correct Sir Frank? I meant to verify this and kinda forgot about it.

    Here's the non text version, I'd not like to use someone else's skull, someone else's bones or someone else's hourglass. I spent 4 hours on this and was promised and I quote;

"made from a customized image uploaded by YOU!"

If that's the case I'd be willing to do that, you peeps really need to be nice to the posters on here, not a single compliment on my design? nice.

Thanks for the image. I'm sure one of the artists can get it into the database.

Skinned is correct. Anything submitted will go into the database, and be available for others to use.

Also, Portalarium found technical limitations make it impossible for more than 4000 people to upload unique images, so they walked back that particular reward somewhat. Richard and Chris maybe should have talked about it sooner. So, we're working on a database of as many charges as possible, and people will need to make their arms out of the set we get to upload. However, by acting early, you have the ability to get your specific charges into the generator, and you'll be able to have what you designed!

All user-submitted content is subject to approval; especially with goals like VR and mod tools already cancelled I wouldn't expect that statement to stand on its own. I obviously can't submit a hand flipping the bird and then fall back on that promise as a basis for inclusion.

I don't see a problem with the design other than maybe too much detail - but it's not my call. The COA has no history of being unreasonable. Ultimately the call is theirs - and it looks like you already have Frank's vote so I think you'll be fine.

    Compliment highlighted. :D
