If everybody submitted images like this, our job would be pretty easy.
    Thank you very much!

And really, you do have my vote.

Razimus, as a fellow artist and graphic design guru I LOVE YOUR SKULL AND CROSSBONES! Having just finished simplifying a skull for the chaos skull design I can really appreciate someone who took the time to make a black and white image work on a black or white field.

and yeah, unfortunately only 2 Runic letters. Trust us, we even thought of only going with 1, but it looks like 2 might just make it as barely readable.

Side note: If you like the college has a blank shield shape, link at the top (I hate IE 10). You can adapt your design to that shape and change up your lettering then post the image so Frank can grab it to load into the college.
What happens at that point...we grab the charge you created and if not in SVG format then we convert it over and it goes into the bank of charges. Once the generator is finished and works seamlessly with the game ( we all hope) your arms can be created in game.

I'm confused the link you provided looks great to me. What exactly is the problem with this image? (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/97871467/Heraldry/Charges/55ODGy1.svg)
Are you wanting me to pull just the bones out?

No...wait maybe I'm not targeting my operation properly.

What are we doing with this exactly? Making the charges fit for the generator, or just making the arms outright?

I was under the impression charges for Coren's generator still had to be either a single path or a compound path to work properly.

    We need to do both.
We need to generate the coat of arms, and also pull out the skull and cross bones, and the hourglass for the charge database.

And, Coren said there was a problem with the way we were converting SVG's, but I did not understand the details.
He said it needed to be one path, or possibly two.

    Easy, easy & easy.

This is where I have the problem - I also recall "one path or two." But it's not one path, or two. It's in the tens. Making it a compound path (which I recall him saying something to the effect of "should be okay") makes it all one colour - it's effectively a boolean operation so this is what's supposed to happen - you're either postive space or negative space even though the multi-path content is still in the file.

This is why I haven't particularly liked converting high-detail multi-colour raster images with AI very much for this project; without these limitations I wouldn't have a problem. Working with paths natively keeps my brain from hurting.

So in essence we need to simplify the detail out of the image and/or each charge, and give one clear path or at most 2 for each piece. Correct? If so that's an easy fix.

That looks great to me, a little loss of detail would look better in-game probably.

Well? What are you waiting for? LOL.
I just started using AI for the first time in years again last week. I've been working exclusively in Inkscape up until now. Still experimenting. Looking forward to seeing how you did it so I can gain points to spend on my crafting skill.

The other thing is Ronan's version has the same issue - if he has had success with all those paths and getting charges in the generator to work before, then everything I've brought up is moot.

It would also mean >2 paths isn't an issue and grouping is fine.

As for the shape, I purposely left it blank/square because I figured the shield, tabard and house flag would be best if no shape existed, it could plop into any shape easier w/out a border, and a black background is what I'd prefer for the same reason.

There ya go Frank, grab that one for the roll in the College.
I'll let skinned and O'Sullivan get the best SVG version put together :)
