Details: the fishing icon appears on the lava and its blue so says you should be able to cast it , but no fishing

Strange, no idea if it can be fixed for this event in time. We do have one fix inbound for lava damage happening while you drag them around over yourself (unless already in, don't think Chris had time yet), but fishing was working perfectly during testing. Some last minute adjustments might have screwed up something, I'll have to dig in. I'd plan for no lava fishing tonight and switch to another water type or simply go to a lava area for now. With Chris' busy schedule today with a 4 hour stream, I don't see a patch coming for this that quickly, but you never know. Have a backup plan for your event please

i also notice depending how the lava pool is layout, the fishing icon doesnt appears when facing certain direction on the compass....

 

Hmmmmm... maybe some weird line of sight thing... k. Keep any other nuances coming. I'll try to look at this today, but definitely by Monday.

@simon1974, @Elgarion, @Echondas' debug gave me the clue. it's the saltwater fishing override statue. pick it up and try the lava again. tested on qa 1275.

 

We'll just run saltwater contest tonight in Rajazel!

OH! Nice, so with removed, does the lava fishing work completely as expected, or are there some remaining bugs? Really good catch. Just gimme a ping, will still look into it, but also will submit a ticket to see if we can make the water changing statues not interfere.

 

yeah, just removed the saltwater statue and works fine now, tried with fetid, aint working, so both of them override the lava pools

 

only this problem is left

 

@Alley Oop should i do i new thread for the salt and fresh water override? and also the one where you cant cast when facing a certain direction on the compass depending on how the lava pool is placed?

 

this thread can be for the statue bug, make a new one for placement/direction issues

 

Thanks all for all the good information. Have two large Lava pools working in Rock Ridge now, wondering though, will we be able to use the override's for Salt and Fetid eventually or is it intentional that using them prevents the Lava fishing pools from working? Also wonder how the POT lava fishing will work with the monthly fishing events? It seems they could break the fresh water, salt water and fetid events entirely unless the events focus on the normal fishing and maybe allow the lava pools to be used as part of the monthly Lava Fishing Events... If the Sponsor POT's have lava pools that is...
