    In the overhead floating combat text, I am seeing primarily just the enemies' damage output. I'd rather see my own damage but it doesn't seem to show up unless I crit. Has anyone else noticed this? Edit: I see what the problem was...the colors for both are too similar. Please address!

    Also...it would be nice if there was an option to toggle floating combat text on and off.

    It does seem to show but it's like very faint - like when you miss? It appears in faded grayed out text. The regular hits? A lighter, non-bold text. The crits are just easier to see.

    The reds are the enemy hits. The yellows are yours. The bolds in both are the crits - I assume. The greyed out "miss" text is probably yours as well - cuz my health goes down when there are a lot of those and the enemies don't.

    So in a way, they do make it different? ;)

    There are two shades of red. One is enemy's damage, the barely lighter one is player's damage.

    I turned my brightness up all the way and now I see the difference between the two reds. Talk about vague. It is very difficult for me to distinguish between those two reds and when fighting a large group with a lot of numbers..yikes.

    1. Either the enemies' or the avatar's floating text needs to be changed to a distinctly different color. Enemy could be all grey? White? Anything.
    2. Add option in Game menu to toggle floating combat text on or off. Maybe in two separate boxes, one for enemy and one for avatar.
    3. On that note, any plans to maybe organize the Game options menu into tabs for different sections? Because our list of awesome options is growing very long!

    What's the yellow text I'm remembering then? I always thought the yellow stuff was me damaging the mob? :confused:

    Yellow is when you land a critical hit. No problem seeing that.

    Really? All I ever see in yellow are crits. All the numbers appear bolded to me. Sometimes a crit will pop up in a much larger font. I just assumed this was because it was a super-crit. >.<

    We could experiment I suppose. Go and let a mob hit you. You are not allowed to hit back. If all you see is red bold and non bold numbers, we could conclude that all the red numbers are from enemy mobs. If you see red and yellow numbers, then we're left with the mystery of what are the non bold yellows.

    Hope you have fun experimenting?;)

    The point is...the two reds are way too similar. They are even more similar than in the list below. This is what I know for sure:

    Light red= Player's damage output
    Dark red= Enemy damage output
    Yellow= Player's criticals
    Green= Heals
    Blue= Focus gain
    Light grey= Player's miss
    Dark grey= Enemy's miss

    That explains a lot... and it's not very colorblind friendly :S

    Not going to bring other game names into this discussion, however, there are a couple games that have floating combat text that can be resized, placed elsewhere in the UI, and allows for color modifications. I'm playing on 3440x1440...combat text is not really apparent with the health bars on anyway, but I would like to be able to move mine to one side and the enemy's to the other and change the colors and text if not move it.

    What if your damage floated left and opponents floated right? would make it easier to see difference
    Is bit colour blind myself

    I am not color blind but it was difficult enough for me to tell the difference. I was actually wondering how the color blind players thought about this. I think changing the color as well as maybe the behavior/direction of enemy text would improve things for all types of vision.

    I imagine these will be customizable in the game options menu some day. Right now its all crammed into "Nameplates" toggle. Some medieval fonts would be nice too.

    Bump. What color do you all think the enemy's damage output should be changed to?

    Maybe some other type of visual effect that does not have a lot of color involved. Just two colors, one yours, the other the enemies. Big bold numbers for your stuff. Smaller numbers for enemy stuff. Crits with blinking fonts? Heals.....fancy fonts?

    Yeah, I think our own damage #s could be a bit bigger in comparison to the enemies'. Not so much that it clutters up what's going on though. Looking at various colors next to each other, it seems that having the enemies' #s in some shade of grey makes sense. I think once sounds are finished, there will probably be a sound for when you crit so that's no problem there.

    This please! i stopped looking at the numbers and just check the health bars, since i can't figure out whom the numbers belong unless the enemy is far away (which is not common).
