Hello the games out and i am happy, Since 52 was release i notice a huge drain on my focus making it had to play the game, not sure if the cost of skills went up or the reg got worse but it is noticeable, i can maybe fight 2 mages now before i have to stop and reg gen skills, it seams as thought the devs are making it hard for thous of us that have a lot of time in the game meaning lots of gm, to the point that we get penalized for putting are time in. sorry off topic anyway if you could take a look at the cost please do.
    thank you for your time

I've noticed this too. I suddenly seem to be running out of focus in fights where it never used to be a problem. @Chris ?

[EDIT: I use a bow, so it'd be primarily aimed shot and rapid fire. I did notice Rapid Fire at GM is 28 focus. Was it always that high?]

It’s all a way of making food crafting and use a semi-required feature of the game. Not a bad thing. Though painful without it. I’ve actually found focus to be intolerably slow without good food for the past several releases. Food helps a lot.

This is with food, and devotional buffs. I'm not doing anything differently, but I'm running out of focus in fights against specific mobs when I didn't before. Siege engineers, for example. I used to be able to take out all eight that spawn at a catapult without running out of focus. Now, after the first two, I have to exit combat and let my focus regen before taking on more.

Yes I am not running out of focus at a horrible rate. Please take advantage of buffs, eating food, devotionals, and potions as well as raising appropriate skills and buffs to help with your focus.

Yeah, focus drains to fast and the long update-ticks for the statusbar are annoying.
The devotionals should be optional and not a must have for combat.

Also the game lacks propper focus/int buff food.

28 focus is way to much for the glyph and the rapid fire GM is a big joke.

No extra damage and no 9th arrow?!
    Just a waste of skillpoints.

I don't agree. Imo We fought for things like potions and food to be made viable and for consequences to be put in place. Having potions and food be necessary is also tied to creating reason to craft and learn about crafting. Also devotionals being helpful give reason to visit areas, plus being tied into sieges and giving reason for where you live and don't live. I have devotionals across the street and never leave home without them. It is part of many games to have to be prepared and to have consequences. Being prepared for battle is the way it is finally in this game imo. At first things did not matter. I am still learning which buffs help with what.

No, hey, let's all just keep ignoring the OP and giving the same sage advice which has nothing to do with what was brought up, so that if a Dev stops by, they can just ignore the entire thing because the two posts actually addressing the issue are buried under forty-three posts that all say "OMG u should use food it is teh r0xxors!"

Well I re-read it and he is talking about his focus drain and he did say his focus drain was causing him problems to play the game. I re-read and that is still the point I am getting from re-reading it. The devs did make it harder to keep focus and one reason is to make players have to think about their focus. This may mean to not use some skills as much to drain their focus and to be aware of what helps your focus and what drains your focus. And another thing we do have for those that don't know is a music system and artifacts that give focus buffs. Like the harp of invigoration when equipped and playing even a couple of notes gives the soothing music buff which improves health and focus regen for a few seconds. So yes the cost of focus did go up maybe not in t52 but earlier but there are things that can be done to counteract this ;) Also going down the focus tree helps.

One thing I'd like to see are focus reducing skills outside the Focus tree. The Taming tree has one to reduce the focus drain of using pets so why not have something similar for the weapon trees? Maybe as part of the specialization bonus?

The question isn't "focus is hard" but "did focus get harder?"

Or, more specifically, "1. Has anybody else noticed that, all other things remaining unchanged, focus seems to deplete much more quickly?" and "2. Does anybody recall seeing a post, or hearing in a livestream or telethon, about a change to focus costs or regen that might explain this?"

I generally don't run out of focus, based on my decks and skills....
However, more than one guildy has complained since - R52 arrived - that they're draining more focus on the same stuff...
And these guys have been playing daily for the best part of over 4 years now.

So, I'm thinking knowing that something has changed in that regard.

    So, good for this thread.
Since they can't fix it if they don't know it's broke.......

    Not sure...
It's only a "bug" if someone can show (with before/after numbers) what has changed....

And this thread really aught to be in Feedback...... IMO
