    I just spent quite a while in a 4 skull zone gathering, killing, etc. When I used the foraging skill on cotton bushes, I would get the 300 xp every time. When I used that same skill to gather, say, nightshade, I would get 50. Why? It takes the exact same amount of time (barring any skill modifiers) and uses the exact same skill.

    Nightshade, mandrake and garlic are always considered a tier 1 gather.

    T0 = 10xp (skinning inoffensive animals like does)
    T1 = 50xp (all reagents such as garlic, nightshade, and mandrake)
    T2 = 100xp
    T3 = 200xp
    T4 = 300xp
    T5 = 500xp

    In general, you only get the scene tier for ore, trees, and cotton. In some places you don't even get that. Skinning animals depends on the level of the animal. Anything (other than bunnies/does/etc.) that you can skin in Twins Foothills (such as Elder Wolves and Obsidian Stags) is always 500xp. There may be even higher XP for skinning higher-level mobs, but I wouldn't know where to find them.
