    Hello Avatars!

    We're were hard at work today doing some forum clean-up. These changes were in no way related to moderation but were to enhance the experience of the forum user.
    • Outdated pinned posts were unpinned.
    • Directory of links was pinned at the top of the New Player Welcome forum
      • Additional links added to this directory of links
      • Immediately improved view quality of directory from feedback
    • Pinned threads with confusing or wordy titles were renamed
    • Player Groups & Guilds sub-forum moved out as a primary forum in Community section
    • Player Owned Towns sub-forum moved out as a primary forum in Community section
    • Guild & Town Hall (where those sub-forums resided) was moved to archive
      • Posts in Guild & Town Hall that were younger than 365 days (unlocked threads) were manually moved to the appropriate 2 forums (either Player Groups & Guilds or Player Owned Towns)
      • Posts in Guild & Town Hall that were older than 365 days (unbumped, locked threads) remained in that room and were archived with it.
    In the coming months, @Ravalox and I will be scouring the forums for ways to make important items (like Guilds and Towns more visible) and reduce the use of sub-forums or underutilized forums. Pinned messages which are outdated will also be sent adrift.

    PLEASE, if somehow we've archived a thread about your guild or town, we're very happy to manually move it to the now prominently displayed Player Groups & Guilds or Player Owned Town forums.

    Hope this and the upcoming changes helps!

    Also keep in mind, we've not gotten to all sections of the forums just yet.

    One thing you can do is to make sure that there's at least one thread in each forum. This thread can be locked and the forum can be set to not allow any more threads. What this does is allow us users to mark that forum and all it's sub forums as read. Otherwise, we have to go through each sub forum and this can take a lot of time.

    The outdated sticky cleanup was a tedious task that was well overdue \o/ Very much appreciated.

    That sounds like a handy technique -- there's at least one area that is all sub-forums (Game Features) could be a handy location to use that trick.
