    Dear fellow avatars,
I beg you on behalf of my main, Caska DiFumarate for your help and advice. My founder chest mimic pet, Schmoo no longer responds to my summons (I wouldn't help such a jerk either but he was a pledge reward so he has to nake the best of it.) Yes, I did get him killed many years ago but a fellow guildie ressurected him. After his demise and rebirth, I kept his Founder's creature summoning whistle in a chest until I could do a better job of protecting him. Many years went by and I am no longer shamefully defeated by a stiff wind, squirrel or rabbit, I thought I might try my hand at using a pet again.
Now when I try to summon my pet I get the message "Your call was unanswered" and "You used sommoning but hit nothing."

I realize that I am not the best chest mimic mom out there but please help reunite a forum troll and her pet. I promise not to do bad things to it like take it to the Lost Vale or use it to pull cabalists or have it poop in the yards of people who gank me.

plain old rez will work if you can get to the body in time, but after that you have to rez it with the pet rez spell from the taming tree now. it'll work forever (at least for the mimics because they're pledge items), as long as you're wearing the whistle.

I have the pet rez skill if you need me to try and rez it for you.
I have one in my bank but have never used it since I like the other pets better. (the ones I can loose) LOL. Message Lesni in game if you want me to try.

I don't think I ever took mine out of the bank until recently and I can't summon him. I don't plan to get any taming skills so if that's the only way to summon him for now he stays in the bank. And what is the reason we can't summon him again?

    Because...reasons!
My guess would be they stuck it into taming because the chest can do combat, only ornamental pets can be summoned at all time without need of skills... maybe?

Even with no skill, I think you can cast pet-res on the whistle to restore it.

I guess it isn't my constant trolling that keeps him away... or is it?

A long time ago, I used to adventure around with the chest mimic. It was fun at first but then it just became work to keep it alive. I wish that I could place it as a decoration NPC though. It would be fun if someone could come onto my lot, double click the chest and it would spring to life and run around them for a minute (with it's happy, tongue-wagging demeanor).

The rabbit mouth sized bite on my ankle says otherwise. @majoria70, you better make your roll or I'll be sharing my box of bandaids with you. ;)

The chest mimic pet is not subject to perma-death. You may need to cast Resurrect Creature if it died somewhere unknown (if the corpse is right in front of you, you can use regular Resurrect as well).

Start by wearing the call item on your neck slot. Drag the Summoning glyph from the taming skill tree to your hotbar and then click on it. Note that there is a cooldown between summonings which defaults to 15 minutes. You will then have a yellow status icon for "Summon Tamed Debuff" and can't summon again until it expires.
