Blocker? No - Can re-launch game and continue

Details: Multiple times per hour have experienced a CTD. Sometimes an error message is caugfht by the in game debugger and a crash report saved, othertimes program is non-responsive and has to be killed via Task Manager.

This has occurred for the past 4 days when I started playing just before 52 was released.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Log into Shroud of the Avatar, Any Game Mode
2. Play for 10-60 minutes until CTD.
3. Repeat

User Specs: PC running Windows 10, 64 bit OS, i7-3770K CPU (relevant for fix below) Latest version


Resolution & Diagnostics:

Checking Windows event viewer, saw lots of WHEA-Logger errors, Event Code 19



A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Browsing through some resources online this is caused by the Intel Meltdown patch.

Downloaded software called InSpectre and disabled the Meltdown CPU fix. - https://www.grc.com/inspectre.htm

Played today for 6 hours straight, no crashes at all.


I understand that this is not the ideal solution as the Meltdown fix is important, but this fixed the game for me and my CPU (Intel i7 3770K) - and the warnings in event viewer have creased.

 

next time you're in game can you add a /bug report just paste the details in here so the spec and some details can be registered

Well I have been running crash free since using this solution.


UPDATE #2

And yet another update .. this did NOT actually work ... went for a day or so without a crash then the problems returned.

This IS NOT A Solution.
