Frequent game client disconnect

This is not fun at all:

 

Lots of people around the US and world are suddenly stuck at home and turn to their computers for info and diversion.
Our overall web infrastructure (here in the US) is all privately owned and considerably behind many other "developed" countries.
The pelicans are simply a result of the above.

 

This problem seems occur frequently in recent patches. I got more disconnect again in a POT where another person is in the same POT.

I suspect it may be a problem when I join the scene hosted by others.

 

We'll have to live with the pelicans for about 3 more weeks since many covid-19 lockdowns across the world are being extended. Let's hope that things are better by then.

 

This is not just an issue with SoTA but the Internet as a whole right now.

Every single online game is having these issues.

Between increased gameplay and increased general network traffic (such as people telecommuting to work) the Internet has been seriously bogged down.

 

I doubt it will be just 3 more weeks. I suspect they will be continually extended for quite some time. They are simply being done one month at a time to force regular review.

Eventually they will be eased, and then fully lifted. We just don't know when.
