Not sure if it's related to the last release since I didn't play for months but my game crash without warning or error after login on map or location. I can access login and option but when I want to get in game I crash around 50%, I'm using steam.

I'm wondering if this could be related to minimum spec of computer or video card. I did a test with Underworld Ascendant on Steam and it works fine.

Try posting your hardware specs first. But if you have always played, then I guess maybe its a corrupted file. Try fully reinstalling the game.

Your video card is under the minimum specs.

OK I did change my video card for a GTX 1060 so very close to the recommended card and I believe a lot better than minimum requirement.
I still have the same problem, the game crash between 50-65% and fast, I don't have time to take a screenshot of the error if any, not clear.
I'm now testing the options in the login screen on video card and I am also open to other suggestions for debugging. Thank you!

After reinstalling the game, did you verify the game files on Steam? There is the option in Steam for verifying your game files.
There is a possibility of game files becoming corrupted during/after reinstalls.

I don't know all the options in Steam so thank you for the advice with reinstalls. Now I did reinstall and verify the game files on Steam but it didn't change anything. This morning, the game crash at 0%.
Now I'm trying to download the game from SOTA and bypass Steam. It looks like a long process to download/patch from SOTA so I may be able to give an update only in 12 hours ...

Corrupted files is unlikely the issue here as your game files passed the Verification Check of Steam.

Do other games work without crashing with your GTX 1060 system?
Can you give examples of games that work flawlessly with your GTX 1060 system?

It would be helpful if you could paste your latest output_log.txt here.
Check for 'output_log.txt' in your %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Portalarium\Shroud of the Avatar folder.

    Things to check:
-Does your computer have enough free disk space for temporary files/swap files?
-Does your system drive have enough free disk space?

    Things to try:
-Open the Windows Task Manager before launching the game and kill processes that are eating a lot of memory (for example: Chrome.exe, Firefox.exe)
-Close down other applications before launching the game
-Set the video settings to the following ones: Fastest, 1368x768

I installed a fresh copy of SOTA on my PC by bypassing Steam and I have the same problem.

@Mischievous Dragon Thank you for the post, I will get back with the info as soon as I can.

Also check your Virtual Memory Settings of Windows 10. Too small size of the paging file (aka the pagefile) or having it disabled  would lead to issues quickly on a 8 GB system. (But just with SotA and not with other games). I recommend setting the size of the paging file to Custom size and changing it to 8192 MB (both the Minimum size and the Maximum size of the paging file). Instructions of how you can do it can be found from here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2864547/manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows.html

    @Lady Morgana This is it!

I changed the paging file from 2000 to 8096MB (both min and max) and I can log in game. I did it 2 times in a row so it looks like I'm all set now! Thanks to you and everybody else who helped on this thread. Salute!
