    Yeah but you can play more than one hour a day.

    Casual Gamers can only play 6-10 hours a week decay would make my 10 hours 8 of efficient Grinding.... No one would like that you erase 20% of the time and effort.....

    Where did you get the number for 20%? 4 hours decay is not the same as 4 hours grinding.

    I have an active play around 2 hours a night (sometimes I just logged on and chat, then go semi-afk). When I got it by decay, it took me 5-10 mins to get the lost XP back. Most of the time I spent on walking around finding mobs to kill.

    If you do efficient grinding for 8 hours, the skill decay will not take away 20% of your effort. Maybe 5-20 mins worth? Depending whether those time include traveling or not.

    Are they going to add Death Attunement to the Shield then?

    Seems to be missing from the plan that is laid out

    Multiple death doesn't stack the decay, it just wipes out the last accrued decay to 0, then start over until it reaches the max 4-hour again.

    My understanding is a death takes said percentage from all of your skills and pool, but defaults to the pool first if you have a skill set to leveling or maintain.

    I'm failing to understand how 4 hours plays into the equation. I understand .04%; that's just simple math. How does 4 hours of accumulated decay factor into .04%? @Chris made it sound like .01% is added for each death in a sliding 4 hour window.

    How many hours has it been since you died last? If greater than 4 hours, treat it as 4 hours. Multiply number of hours by = 0.0001. Multiply that by the XPs in each skill and that is how many is loss. The number is really 0.0025/24 so a hair more than 0.0001.

    So is there / will there be any indicator how much decay is currently accumulated?

    Yep we will need a Decay Count for the skill window so we know how much the game will be taxing us for our time played.

    How would we know how much xp is in each skill anyway?

    Would it be possible to get an actual number tooltip or x xp/x for lvl for each skill leveling bar for some further transparency since currently it comes down to manually writing down what an individual skill is draining from the xp pool and calculating an average.

    Why not just play the game? Why the need to know how much xp you lose when you die? You will lose it either way.

    Generally it would be nice to know how bad the consequences of dying will be. It might have some influence on my willingness to take risks. If I see a red enemy and I know I will lose hours of progress I won't give it a try. If it's just a minor hit to my pool I probably will go for it, because trying hard things is fun (to me and some ppl at least).

    I do play the game quite a bit, just because you don't have fun with math and the underlying systems or min maxing why should everyone be restricted to your play style?
    I'd like to know that I'm making efficient use of my time when I'm playing, especially when it comes down to something like grinding for xp and potential penalties from death.
    Knowing the actual numbers is also beneficial to finding bugs and balance issues as well.
