German House Pet Suggestion - Schnauzer

The Germans love their dogs. I can't wait to go back there someday. I vote for the Dachshund too. It would be funny to see them waddling along. They are some aggressive little things, too.

 

In germany we call him Dackel. One of the most known Dackel szenes in german tv. From "Hausmeister (janitor) Krause"

 

Not a big fan of dachshunds or schnauzers, I would LOVE a german shepherd though, they are sweet and loyal animals

 

How about something older, like Altdeutscher Hütehund for example, a predecessor or modern german shepherd? Since german shepherd is a pretty new dog breed after all.
There are several types of "old german shepherds" (7 altogether); different depending on areas... here are a few


Or a schwartzer (northern / mid-German version)


Or a eastern German Schwartzer:


"Tiger" (funny colour, "blue merle")

 

The first 3 dogs would be exactly what i am looking for. ^^

 

Im for the Teckel's obviously. Its a hard breed to convince people about though if you've never had one. Had 3, but we lost one a month ago a day after his 4th birthday due to unknown respiratory failure (and he visited 3 vets before being treated in Purdue, so he had the best treatment).

Ive had cats, ive had other breeds of dogs, others in my family have had other breeds. Labs , german shepards, and many more.

None have ever touched me or earned my admiration more then the doxin's.

Their loyalty, bravery, intelligence, combined with their fierce stubbornness and pride.. Yet still being able to need and love is amazing.

My neighbor has a Mastiff and my miniature long haired Doxin's bark nose to nose with him through the fence.. My neighbor once said that they are like great big huge dogs in tiny bodies.

One time at a dog park 6-8 large breed dogs surrounded one of mine and was antagonizing her while we where trying to get to her (we don't go to that park any more.. Some little breeds have been killed). My other two while obviously terrified tried to protect her from what to them where giants.


Any breed of dog that is capable of going into a hole in the ground and facing off a badger, will always have my vote.. That would be like me going into a cave and facing off a bear with a dagger. They gave guts.


All breeds have something special about them though and im ok with whatever they decide on.

Some breed from the old age, Germanic type dog (war trained or not) would be nice to see in-game.

 

Schnauzers for the win! I've found miniature schnauzers and Shi-tzus to be the best little dogs around!
