They do tend to immediately destroy the landscape, I agree 100% with the OP. They look like something that should exist in an arena, but as a house deco being all over the place it's overkill. It's like seeing a strip club neon sign. It's like entering a humble town only to discover it's turned into the neon lights of the Las Vegas strip.

I like Rune's idea, a limited duration glow on a timer.

This stuff sells. Place enough of them and you can probably see your pot from space. Personally, I would prefer pink flamingos.

I like this idea. How about the banner is set fire via a torch. Then, must be reconstructed with materials from a carpenter, and tailor. The color of the flame could come from potassium chloride and calcium chloride.

Perhaps even just a toggle to turn it on, and then the timer ensues. I do really like the Idea of using some kind of "reagent" to keep it lit though. That is a wonderful Idea.

would it be immersion breaking if required mats to keep it lit?

    ...that was YOU!?

i wouldn't go so far as to give refunds to the people, but i would restrict them to pvp enabled zones like vengance. places like that will have a great use for them. i'd also remind people that they can convert back to credits in the next wipe/release if they make the change to pvp-zones only.

i personally think they are immersion killing from a PVE perspective, while still capable of being fun from a social and pvp perspective. i really wouldn't want one in my pot because of the glow and the "look at me!!" factor.

as long as the flamingos do not glow.

that is a good question ravi. kind of a neat way to do that, but i wouldn't wanna see it even if they kept the mats going. you placing it, breaks my immersion. - my fix for that would be to get rid of the neon glow animation in a pve zone, but let it be a thing in pvp zones that would have more use for it for games.

I did give an idea:p I said have them on timers if they have to be in game....what if you could set them to be visible to the people that need to see them?

I don't like them either. However just like everything new in the game the players seem to have an 'overkill' attitude. Just look at Owls Head....just getting to town is like walking through a State Fair....there's a Vendor every 3 steps (which is pretty awful as well). My guess is that when the new wears off it won't be so bad - hopefully.

I love the banners and I love the vendors...It doesn't break immersion to live in a sandbox!

    For you.

For those who like to be immersed in the world they do break immersion, this isn't simple a sandbox of a bunch of parts that you can willy nilly throw around.
