Gold Crowns of the Obsidians

Killing stuff in The Rise I've never seen one. I'd be surprised if you could get one per 20 trolls.

 

Any chance you would consider an OPTIONAL "supporter subscription" model that would provide an appropriate allowance of Crowns for $10-$20/month?

When exactly did we compare this to PLEX?

 

Instead of monthly subscription, I would rather see 2-3 monthly bundles that cost $10 - $20 each, so at least I can *almost* cherry pick what I want.

 

@DarkStarr Do the extra 100 slots get applied the moment you claim your rewards, or is it a deed that you can utilize?. (E.G. Spend gold for slots and when the cost is prohibitive use deeds)

 

Actually potions from the crowns (at least for gathering) have diminishing returns, at low level they are very powerful.
The higher level your skills are, the less noticable their effects.

Basically it'll help you get started in a new career but it won't be critical for anything, it's totally possible to level without them, and be compeitive without them.

I've never been able to survive in the Rise. It's made for groups of people, and although it looks cool, it's not very sophisticated. I found the troll combat to be very challenging and fun. The Rise felt like a Neverwinter Nights DM decided to put an army of tough mobs into every room of a meaningless dungeon.

But to your point, yes rare probably means rare. I'm ok with that. I find that MMO's put way too much of a premium on time played and not enough on fun and other meaningful combat. I hope SOTA moves towards more meaningful, less grinding combat and finding an Obsidian Crown is not something that is expected just because you stand around killing the same thing over and over again.

So are these lootable in PvP? Because you know you are sorely lacking loot as rewards for PvPers.

 

That's a great question that ultimately will have a huge impact on pvp.

I would have to think that they would not be lootable.

 

Would be nice to have the option to use one as a ransom

:\ nice for the rich guy who bought them and thought it worth it to use it, and for the murderer who gets it.

 

I would love the opportunity to use Obsidian Crowns in a (non-exploitable) bounty system.

 

@DarkStarr Does this mean that most all of the Addon store items will be retired and only Gold coins will be sold instead which then can be used to buy these cosmetic items in game?

 

Ancestor also gets all 5 episodes but the new Viking package only gets episode 1.

 

I still need to test the potions and figure out what is with the new system. If you're right on gathering I'm glad and even if i need to pay 2500 gold every week to gather competitively i might be okay. However i find issue if its like 20k gold to make a potion.
