Normally I would say to describe the primary charge (in this case the sun) first, and any secondary charges upon it second, and follow up with the tertiaries, but in this case I think I agree with you. This is a much more elegant blazon.

I was considering that, but there are interpretations of 'overall' that would extend the sun to cover the tertiaries somewhat just so it can truly be 'overall'. That's why I left it out. I'm not certain if that was also Rufus' interpretation, but it might well have been.

I accounted for that possibility, which is why the "fimbriated" was there to begin with, so the sun would stand out where it overlapped the charges in the tertiaries... But I *personally* like how it looks now better, TBH... ;)
(I could live without the "fimbriated", personally, but I'll have to ask my son when I get back what he thinks, it *is* his arms after all! ;))

May I then petition the college on behalf of my son to change the blazon as suggested by Rufus?

    Yes. Done.

Side note: There's more than one correct way to blazon.

Well, since it's been removed from the blazon, it would be most correct to do so on the mock-up as well. However, since is *is* only a mock-up I'm not overly concerned, but it would be appreciated... If it's not too much trouble, that is!

PS: I forgot to mention that my son agrees with the above!
