While walking, about every 5 seconds or the graphics will jump - I'll either find myself a few steps back, or looking in a different direction, or something similar. Tried both Fantastic and Beautiful settings on my high-end system.

Its annoying at best, and confusing at worst.

if possible, which scene were you in at the time of this issue? What is your video quality setting at? Would you be able to provide /loc command coordinates for us to reproduce exactly where it was occurring? Thank you for reporting.

I've tried both Fantastic and Beautiful on my I7-5930 based system with a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. Been playing SoTA since around Release 9 and haven't seen this before. However, to be honest, I've been out of pocket for the last couple of releases. I see a visible pause, again, about every 5 seconds or so, whenever walking anywhere (world map, Owl's Nest Mine, Owl
s Nest, etc.) Almost like a network lag while some server records where I'm at. FYI - I have 200mbit down/7 mbit up connection that is lightly loaded. I am playing in online, single user, mode. All I need to do to reproduce is walk continuously for about 5 seconds.

Normally the pause is slight, perhaps a 1/2 second long - but occasionally it results in the reported back jump or rotation issue.

I've noticed something similar in previous releases, that went away when I turned off names ('N'). If you toggle names off, do you still notice the delay?

Hide Player Nameplate on the Game menu? That has been off.

Would reducing your quality setting, or putting it on "Auto" help this issue?

I get stuttering as well in player NPC cities (Ardoris, Soltown, etc) and on the overworld map. Turning off names stops it. Leaving names on causes the micro second stop every few seconds.

Honestly doesn't feel like a graphics issue, it feels like a network synchronization issue. That said, a few seconds of testing on "fastest" didn't display the problem. I'll continue on that setting, but would hope my above referenced hardware would sleep through the best settings available like it normally does.

Missing that setting, can you be explicit on where that is?

And a short walk through Owl's Nest and the issue is still there, with graphics set at "Fastest".

Press the "N" key to turn off names. Once I did that the stuttering stopped.

Confirmed, this resolves the issue for me, even at "Beautiful" graphics setting.

So this is the same issue as in previous releases. I know its been submitted before, but looks like it didn't get fixed. Oh well, no names!

Does the turning off nameplates workaround described above resolve the problem for you, as well? I've updated the existing ticket.

I have the same problem, PC is overspec'd as well. Shutting nameplates off (N) seems to solve it, but I would hope after 3 releases of this, it will be resolved soon. Difficult running around not knowing what I can kill and what can kill me...

Yes, names off stops the every-6-seconds graphics hitch for me.

Nameplates off also clears most, but not all of my stuttering as well.

Please please escalate the fix, this makes it really hard to stay motivated to play. Not having nameplates so you cant see the monsters level/health and so on. And its hard to even socialize, because you cant see who is running around you.

There is still stuttering without the nameplates, but not nearly as bad. With nameplates its insane.

It's definitely the nameplate 'pinging'. You can just sit anywhere, by the water for example, and watch the waves jump/hesitate every 3 seconds with nameplates on.
