    Hey there ....

I would like to add some information to the Guide since i made mayself go through testing out the dps of the pets. Here are the Results with my current skill lvls (Summoning 126; Combat Training 121; 100 Taming Specialisation; 10 Taming LVL Blessing):

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nhz1rto425in3vm/tameing.png?dl=0
    [IMG]

Obsidian Destroyer - 41,2 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 2552 HP
Darkstar Corpion - 31,4 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1628 HP
Ferocious Red Spider - 26,9 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1375 HP
Razorback - 25,8 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1679 HP
Ferocious Bear Patriarch - 34,2 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1787 HP
Red Wyvern - 15,1 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1346 HP
Purple Wyvern - 14,8 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1346 HP
Orange Wyvern - 15,0 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1346 HP
White Wyvern - 14,9 DPS over 5 minutes on a Practice Dummy; 1346 HP

i am sorry that i am missing the summoing lvl 84 taming bear but i dont got one tamed and at hand ....

    In my Opinion:
    a) Taming Specialisation has also got to directly increase the Damage of the pet by its Percent; that would not be overpowered du to the extremely high skillpoint investment needed and it also blocks one of your specialisationslots
    b) its a pitty that combat Training above 120 does not seem to work; Please make it work for at least the 121 (+17) and the +18 breakpoint
    c) please let the Summoning Skill work above lvl 126, at least for the summoining lvl 84 (lvl 140 for base lvl 105) and 89 (lvl 154 for base lvl 110) tamed Creatures
    d) Wyverns suck - to make them vaiable: increase their base damage by 100% when tamed and make the Red Wyvern Summoning lvl 79 Base; Purpe and Orange 84; and White 89

    Greetings

    Thorwalg

Very interesting! Did you also have the taming blessing equipped for this?

I agree about your opinions, (except for the last one, though I do think they should deal a bit more damage.), and the fact that Combat Training stops working after 120 needs to be bug reported.

@bastianbu Thanks a lot for your testing
but how does DPS increase in a multiple enemy case?
are all attacks single target attacks or multiple target attacks?

I don't know if it is testable with practice dummys but if you put 3 or more in actual combat range it should be ? ;)

I have re tested combat training and at 145 the pet gets another level, the pet gets a level at 128 and 145. Now the cost for the jump from 128 to 145 is around 70 mil and the destroyer bear gets another 27 hp from the level. Is it worth it? I'll leave that up to you guys. But at least the pet can get stronger.

I wonder how tamed pets will be affected by the pet/summons rebalancing in R62.

@Nick cold is going to publish this guide in game as a 4 part book series. I thought it was a great idea he had and have given him permission. :)

Sounds great! Though I would hold off until R62, when we get the combat pass on summons and tameables.

@Duke Gréagóir Ran a few tests with my Obsidian Wolf:

Wolves have two attacks, the first is the standard attack that we are used to, as it hits twice for a low amount of damage per hit.

The second attack is a "pounce" of sort, which is their "strong" attack. It only hits once, but deals the combined damage of both hits from the wolf's normal attack.

Definitely would like to see them, and while we're on the subject ... are we ever going to see the rest of the Wyvern colors?

Probably not, since dyeable pets are going to be a thing as well.

    Updated for R65

Taming Simplifications: We made various changes to Taming to make it more easily understood and used, especially for new players.
    • Name Changes: All references to “Summoning Whistle” have been changed to “Taming” including the name of the crafted necklace is now “Taming Necklace.”
    • Taming Necklaces: A less powerful Taming Necklace has been added that will allow taming to be more accessible to new players. The “Wooden Taming Necklace” has reduced durability and makes taming more difficult but can be purchased at Taming and Outskirts merchants.
    • Taming Collars and Animal Collars: The recipes related to the taming collar has been simplified to not require the animal collar component crafted from tailoring but to instead require those ingredients. The active “Taming Collar” recipe has been updated. A discoverable recipe has been added that works the same as the old recipe for the existing animal collars. The animal collar recipes is not being removed from the game, just removed from circulation.
Tamed Pet Balance: Last release work was done to bring summoned pets up to a more respectable level. For R65 we took a pass at evaluating tamed pets. The primary thing that stood out was their lower than expected DPS in combat. All tamed pets should see roughly a 25% increase in DPS. Additionally, the Wyvern’s poison attack now also adds a weakness effect and drains a small amount of focus.

R66 - Added the new taming skills

New Taming Skills: A variety of new taming skills have been added that let you level up various aspects of your tamed pets.
    • Pet Speed Training: Taming tree skill that increases the pet’s dexterity as well as its movement speed.
    • Pet Hide Toughness Training: Taming tree skill that increases the pet’s damage resistance as well at its magic resistance.
    • Pet Strength Training: Taming tree skill that increases the pet’s strength which in turn increases its overall damage.
    • Pet Attack Precision Training: Taming tree skill that increases the pet’s max critical hit damage.
    • Pet Taunting Training: Taming tree skill that increases the pet’s ability to take and control aggro from creatures.

    • Top Tier Tameable Creatures: We have added Top Tier tameable creatures similar to the Obsidian Destroyer which is currently the highest health and overall the most powerful tameable creature. We also made a pass on the visuals of these creatures making sure these were set correctly and synced with loot drops. This is preparing for moving animal heads over to use decoration scaling similar to fish trophies. These new Top Tier creatures will be slowly added to scenes over time. For Release 66 you will find at least one example of each of these in one scene.
      • Polar Destroyer (Bear)
      • Ferocious Obsidian Boar
      • Razorback Destroyer
      • Large Darkstarr Corpion
      • Darkstarr Destroyer (Corpion)
