Guards are a Danger to the Population

The guards of Novia, despite not being willing to address you while your own weapon is unsheathed, patrol right beside other citizens of the realm while brandishing their swords. I saw one cut right through another citizen's hand! Thankfully, they seemed to be ok, but the guards need to be dealt with!

Ok, just kidding. But guards with swords drawn continually looks ridiculous. Especially the samurai ones in Ardoris. I propose that guards get upgraded from swords to halberds, so at least while they are walking around they look "armed" without looking like they are stabbing everyone that walks by.

 

I'd like to see guards carrying shields bearing the towns coat of arms Swords would be okay if they were sheathed.

Shields would be cool. Unfortunately, sheathed swords can't be seen. Perhaps once belts are better implemented we can have sheathes, or we could just put a sword in our belt slot to wear it sheathed.

 

Why do we need to see them?
