This idea surfaced in the chat. General thoughts are...

Guild Warfare could be declared by carrier pigeons/ravens, and they can pick the type of delivery for the message, as well as the intent.

    Two message main types:
    1. Send - One of the following: War Declaration, Declaration of Peace, Basic Message
    2. Response - One of the following: Accept, Decline, Basic Message

    Pigeon delivery sub-types:
    War/Duel Declarations:
    1. Dead on an arrow - They mean business! (can send but only respond respond only if accepting)
    2. Alive with a note - Perhaps this is a friendly challenge (can send/respond with this)
    3. Mocking Bird - This will be quite amusing! (can send/respond with this)

    Declaration of Truce or Surrender:
    1. Alive with a note - We just want to end this.
If you're at war you can request a truce agreement or surrender.

    Basic Messages:
    1. Alive on a note
    2. Perhaps a mocking bird for an amusing tale between two friends

    Other Notes/Thoughts:
    1. There would need to be a limit on how often these can be sent to prevent being over-pigeoned/harassed.
    2. There should be an ignore system and possibly an opt-in/opt-out system for this.
    3. Should cost some coin as well because pigeons can cost some coin!
    4. Choosing to kill the pigeon or even using mocking pigeons could impact player virtues as well.
    5. Could possibly extend the concept to other message delivery animals... perhaps the classic sewer rat?

Tamers could also find this to be rewarding as a side-skill to tame carrier pigeons. A little pigeon goes a long way! lol

Yes! That could be a rather unique element to Animal Taming!
