Hail - Time is Running Out, 20 Minutes Left to Donate Your Skull!

Hail and well met!! Obs here of the Moongate Travelers. I have the distinct honor of owning the The Evil Eye Tavern located in Rift's End. There are just 37 days left 'til launch and that means there are just 37 days left to donate your skull for display at the Evil Eye Tavern.

The Evil Eye Tavern was born out of a desire to create unique content where we could honor all avatars and developers who contributed to the improvement of this great game during Alpha to Launch. Back in 2016, @Audacity suggested that we collect skulls. She put out the call and the community responded. See link https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/i-want-your-body.65827/

The vast majority of skulls have been collected through word-of-mouth and participation in community events. For example, during the "Fall into Winter Telethon" (November, 2016) Lord British himself donated his skull. It was a great time! See for yourself. Here is the link.

It's been a lot of fun and much work collecting and decorating the tavern. None of which would be possible without the help and support of many of my guildmates. The current tavern is our third iteration since as the number of skulls grew so did the building. And, it's not all skulls as you have to properly decorate a building that will house such important guests (skulls) as we have at the tavern. Space is limited and I figure that I have space for approximately 100 more skulls within the tavern and 500 or so outside. Seems like a lot but you reach the deco limit fast.

Shout out to some of the guilds that really helped fill the shelves in the tavern.
Carpe Noctem, Havoc, Bear Tavern, Societas Eruditorum, Nightwalkers, The Honor Empire, The Tower of High Sorcery, Element Zero, Jade Dragons, Paxlair, House Serenite, Lunar Dragons, Evl, Britannia Mining Company and of course The Moongate Travelers. (Saved the best for last) If I forgot anyone I apologize.

I encourage all to come by and tour the tavern. There's a chest set up in Rift's End where you can drop off your skull or just mail it to me. Remember, we only take donated skulls. No trophies here so please do not send me a skull of another player without his or her permission. We never sell or trade skulls. Every time Obs re-decorates, I have to go back and look for my skull again. Mine is the prettiest, so it isn't too hard to find, but with all those skulls I still have to really look!

 

This seems like fun! Now forgive the newbness (still fairly new), but how do we do this? Obviously I have to go naked to not lose any durability on my gear, but how bad is the experience loss? Is it like a normal PvE death?

I'm not very high yet... only level 47 adventurer.

 

I do not have you skull Sheamus. Feel free to mail it or I'll be happy to help you get it done.

I get that a lot from people. the best part about SoTA skulls is they grow back.

And when of the best dressed too.

No, it's a piece of cake. Your right removing your armor prevents durability loss and there is not any xp loss when you pvp or die in a pot. It could take a few attempts as the body part that drops is random.

What time is that? I honestly haven't looked into figuring out what time that would be.

I'm East Coast USA so that is -5 UTC time.

I gotta say, @Audacity and @Obsidian Tempest did an amazing job decorating the Tavern and Museum. Loved being in Rift's End and getting a chance to be a part of something so unique and cool!

 

I believe my skull is part of the collection already, but if it's not...

Got them! Both skulls are sitting next to each other on a shelf near the Hearth on the third floor. Thank you again.

I am glad that you were kind enough to donate a skull. It looks great on the pedestal under your amazing painting and I got your CoA it's under the skull.

I am happy to say my head is amongst those early arrivals in the hall of skulls.

Also very happy to say I would be willing to kill anyone that needs help gathering your skull. After all, it means two treats in one. Obsidian and the Evil Eye Tavern gain a skull and I gain a meal for at least a week

Donate your skull... it only hurts for a little while and we all need to lose our heads once in a while!
