Just read a tip in the game that read:

Heavy Armor is most effective against Fire, Death, and Air magic and least effective against Life, Water, and Earth magic.

@Chris (who is too busy to read or answer this) That's not correct as I understand it. Armor doesn't really protect you from "magic" it protects you from "elemental magic". Armor would protect you more from a fireball but it's not doing anything against Death Rays or Blind or other non-elemental attacks.

I think this tip is wrong.

I thought the tip was how much the armor affects your magic as a caster.

Oh, I hope that's what it's supposed to be saying! Or that I read it wrong.

That would make sense. I tried to write it down exactly as I read it though.

A lot of these tips are difficult though, imo. I think the main thing is they're written by people that have been playing for a long time and can read between the lines. Even if I'm at fault here and misread it, I can't imagine what new people would think. It's got to be crazy for them to figure out what we're talking about in these tips.

Ok, I just saw the tip again and it's written exactly like this:

Heavy Armor is most effective against Fire, Death, and Air magic and least effective against Life, Water, and Earth magic.

    I'd certainly like some clarification.

I've been noticing since R36 that Life spells don't fizzle as much in heavy armor compared to other spells. Was wondering whether Port had introduced some mechanics from the paladin class.

Heavy Armor gets alot of love in this game. Most other games I play heavy armor is strong against melee and bows and weaker against magic. Seems they have something else in mind for SOTA, which is fine but this tends to bode poorly for lighter armors.

I got the tip today before the latest patch. I think it's still there.

    Here's another incorrect tip:

Obsidian crowns that are dropped as loot, with the exception of the gold one, cannot be used to purchase art or other decorations. In fact, that coin can only be used to purchase a very specific obsidian potion.
