Hello from Lord Merlin

A haughty title, filled with little but hot air. As John Merlin in game, I visited the land after a long absence. It is a daunting undertaking, to explore this land. I spent a couple hours doing a couple initial scenes and trying to learn game mechanics. Also, learning if there is any system of values (of course there is) and to what extent it pervades game play is a mystery. Does it affect my karma to loot the bodies of dead soldiers? It doesn't seem right, but wouldn't it be wasteful not to?

So many questions, quandaries, puzzles, and facts. I am glad for the resources provided by the citizenry. I will start availing myself of it. With luck, there will be some help in the form of tutelage available in the future. I will surely need it.

[I was an early kick starter supporter (explorer) and wandered off for about a year as the project evolved to a less amorphous form. I think it is now time for me to start exploring this new world in earnest. Many thanks in advance for all the answers to my future stream of incessant questions.]

 

Hail Lord Merlin and welcome to New Britannia. I don't believe looting bodies effects virtue.. although it does indeed seem like a sordid act. Stealing from vendors and helping nefarious citizens on questionable quests are examples of things that the mysterious and all-seeing Oracle will frown upon. I suggest visit her frequently and ask her for her counsel on your path. She may specifically advise you of things that you have done (or did not do) that she either approves or disapproves of.

 

Hail and well met Lord Merlin. It did once affect karma but people complained due to quest items having to be looted from bodies and getting negative karma hits because of it. Not sure the current state, but I know the devs definitely wanted there to be a feel to it in order to make people think.
