    I pledged today and I was looking around here on the forums and on the website but there is a lot of info to read up on. :) Am I right in that pledges get access for a few days at a time? It looks like the next one is July 24-27th, is that correct?

    Will we get longer times once it hits actual beta?

    I played UO in 1997 and played it for 6 years. Been playing MMOs ever since, on and off. I'm an OLD LADY now! ;) Nice to meet you all, hope we can all be friendly.

    That is correct.

    Yes, that is expected to occur sometime "soon" (probably in a number of months), in order to better test longer-term economic issues.

    I hope you enjoy testing SotA like I did ( started in R7) and yes R8 is starting July 24.
    Maybe you take a look at some community events which are planned already, a good chance to meet friendly people and get more informations ingame :) http://avatarscircle.com/community-events/

    Welcome Pashta, from an OLD MAN ;) Glad you found your way here - we need some old and wise heads to keep the young 'uns in line:rolleyes:

    It's a great community; we will be glad to answer any questions and point you to help (already done, above...)

    I believe the developers hope to be in beta by the end of the year, and the game may be up permanently then. No promises of course; as DarkStarr says "The only constant is change...."

    Hail Pashta, Im also a long time player of UO, actually since it first came out ive played it. Hope you like this game! From what ive seen so far, everything is looking pretty good here. I cant wait to just start playing the final release!
    Glad to have you amongst the rest of us. Dont let the forums fool you there are some nice people here willing to answer whatever we can about this game! :)

    Welcome Pashta! Being an old UO player myself (and still playing), I suspect you will have a great time in New Britannia. The community is great and very helpful here. I am on UO Chesapeake (since 1997) in a player town called PaxLair (since 1998). What shard were you on if I may ask?

    The pre-alpha Releases are a blast where you can try anything that has been put into the "toolbox" so far by the developers. Your character gets wiped between those releases, so you can do anything without re-course on your final character of course. Yet, your "friends list" remains intact for your account -- therefore you can find your friends easily in the next Release.

    Coming up in R8 is the first time for PVP. Previous releases had PVE, crafting, player housing, foraging, dungeon crawls, NPC dialogue, NPC quests, and more.

    What are your interests?
