I own a row house on a row lot and i have a stone and timber row basement in my inventory. Can't drag the basement into my properties management window, which would be the most logical way to do this. What am i missing???

place a basement hatch on your property then use the hatch to add the basement.

Check your bank first, if your basement is from a pledge/bundle it will be in there. Otherwise they're super-cheap from (usually) the housing vendor above the banker.

After adding the basement your property manager will show the basement you have 'equip'. Though I haven't tried this yet I believe that if you wish to change basements or move to a new location and wish to use the magic movers option then you can drag your basement into the side slot of your property manager to have all your things saved. Someone correct me if I'm wrong in thinking this means you can have multiple basement setups for a single house, such as a general 'room' basement for housing space and work and an 'arena' for combat or a basement dining room via swapping them out based on your needs and retaining whatever decoration setup each has.

Yes, with the caveat that the basement and its entire contents get moved all at once. So if you only have one of a deco item, you can't have it in multiple stored basements. I guess this would apply to a chest full of stuff too.
