I'm not sure what the stimulus is (otherwise this would be in the bug subforum) but I've noticed occasionally, (immediately after selecting a glyph from the deck in combat) my avatar will decide I really really need to look straight up. Anyone getting this? I thought it might be the wireless mouse, so I switch back to USB wired... no luck. Its not glyph specific, or if it is... it happens with more than one of them.

Me too, can't figure out what triggers it.

What I noticed is it happens to me mostly when a new node resource of some kind has spawned in my general area and I turn to face it. For me it happens both in and out of combat.

Oh yeah, that's my favorite (NOT!) when I suddenly, unexpectedly spin around and look up in the air, totally disoriented and try to figure out which direction I was going in the woods.

I've noticed that frame-rate seems to affect mouse sensitivity. The lower my frame-rate, the more sensitive my mouse becomes. If I'm in my basement, for instance, my frame-rate is high and I have to lift up my mouse and reposition it in order to turn all the way around.

This is not a thread about targeting.

I also have this issue (in either combat mode, for those that are curious!).. is there a bug report yet? I'd love to see this problem disappear.

I think I've kinda figured out some of the triggers for this.

If you play on dual monitors and SoTa loses focus, no matter where the mouse it, you get the mouseover popup as if you were mousing over the XP bar.
You can't click on any buttons, nodes or harvestables to regain focus you must click in the background(game scene) then click the button.

It then behaves as if your mouse instantly moved to it's current location from where ever it "thought it was" leaving you rotating a number of degrees and looking up.

I believe the Interface UI and the Game are basically in an argument about exactly where the pointer is and what state it is in, and the only way they can agree is trigger instant movement from the last UI element to the Physical location, while the mouse is down for the "click" event, triggering the mouse Look up and around glitch we are seeing.

However, I play on Linux, Via Steam, in Window mode, so your results may be different.

Is anyone playing full screen seeing this? I play windowed (single screen macbook pro) but I'm pretty confident the window doesn't lose focus when this occurs.

I believe it's on the known issue list for R29.

    EDIT.
I was wrong, it is not listed as a know issue closest match to it is under changes

    • Fixed bug where game would stutter and mouse cursor would flicker violently when rotating camera with select UI panels open

Same. I have dual monitor setup, with web browser in one screen and Sota in windowed mode via steam (on linux) on the other screen. Anytime I click off the sota game window, and then re focus on sota, the camera faces straight up. Its not that big of an issue to me, and it only happens on the linux client, and under no other circumstances for me (my roomate plays on a windows machine, and this doesnt happen on that client).

If this happened while I was actually playing the game, then I bet it would be difficult for me to deal with.

It happens a lot when actually playing the game, frequently after clicking "Take All" I think, but it's so disorienting it's hard to remember.

It's a windows issue with the mouse. Been around for a long time.

The logitech link gives a little info on what is happening. The MS link has a solution but sadly the issue rears it's ugly head from time to time with different windows versions.

As for Linux. Same issue different solution. That'd take some homework, depending on your distro. A manual fix might be required. (the beauty and pain of linux)

This issue also affects Win 7 home version of the game.
