Maybe it's a mistake on the website then because a founder baron (pledge level) has the title of baron. Did anyone bubble this up to Port to get fixed yet?

That's because Founders get access to legacy titles

I couldn't find the thread where the final decisions were made but here is the one which started it

Specifically I point you to this post of Firelotus's

Pardon me because I'm still confused... I know they will get access to titles, but why is Baron listed on the pledge page as the default title for a Baron Pledge?

This means the default title for a Lord pledge is "High Baron". And the default title for a Baron pledge is "Baron". If both can affix royal to the front the same problem exists. In fact it would be preferable for a Baron to choose the lower title of "High Baron" if they don't have access to another that differentiates them.

Somewhere it seems that Barons should have access to a differentiating title like Earl. And this should be changed on the pledge page on the website, unless I'm missing something

They do, baron 1's are Counts
    benefactor Barons are Viscounts
and founder baron 2s and 3s are Earl's

So it's simply a mistake on the pledge pages then?

Look at Baron 123... all say Baron is the title for a founder.

This is the source of my confusion... and if what you're saying is true Port should update the webpage.

Its because of the quote from Firelotus
Baron for Baron level pledges is a legacy title and when they put the new order together they promised (as the quote above says) that we could still use the existing titles if thats what we wanted.

So for instance Benefactor Lord level pledges CAN NOT use the title "Lord", they ONLY get the title "Baron". Founder level Lords on the other hand can chose the new title "High Baron" OR the existing title of "Lord"

and its the same for Founder level Barons. The new titles are Count (for Baron 1) and Earl (for Baron 2 and 3) but as founders they can still chose to call themselves Baron as it was the title promised to them during Kickstarter. The reason is 2 fold, 1 they would be in breach of contract if they failed to give the rewards they promised during Kickstarter and that would technically include the correct titles (they can give more, they just can't give less) not that anyone would do anything about that and 2 (and far more importantly) they wanted to make all there initial backers happy, so if you were wedded to the idea of being called LORD KELVIN, you could be called Lord, but if you thought that Lord was a generic form of address and wanted to be in line with the true nobility hierarchy then you could be called High Baron (or even Baron if you wanted to because you can still use the benefactor titles even if your a Royal/Founder). The same goes for the Barons, if they LOVED the idea of being called "Baron" they could still do that because that's what was promised but if they preferred to be there "proper place" in the hierarchy then they could be called Count or Earl (or Viscount if they chose). Benefactors DON'T have this choice, they ONLY get the new Benefactor title, so for Lords its Baron and for Barons its Viscount
