    • How do I make money in the game? (General feeling that it is difficult to make money)
    • New players are missing the method to unlock the advanced tactics. (some don't even know they exist)
    • The deck system: When starting a new deck, the UI shows "1 of 23 glyphs"; players are thinking that 23 is the maximum number of glyphs that can be in the deck. (The UI may need an adjustment to clarify this, such as "Minimum Deck: 1 of 23 Glyphs + 22 Slugs")
    • Explaining Pooled Experience is still a recurring item. Though information is found under "Character Progression" in the Help Document, it should have it's own entry in the table of contents of "Pooled Experience" indented under the "Character Progression" topic.

• New Player Experiences:
  • Free Trial Test #4: The next Free Trial test period will begin on the 3rd and extend to the 26th; great opportunity to greet new players!
  • Zeme – Concept of new player guild: The results of the previous attempts to implement this concept were discussed.   • Justyn - Starting Town Events for New Players: Encourage more community events to expose new players in starter areas. To overcome issues due to organizers not having housing in the area, find a way to provide Aether Vibration Devices (or Clockwork Helms) for music and coordinate with local property owners for lot access.
    
    Starting towns: Soltown, Resolute, and Aerie
    
    First step is to “inventory” properties at the three towns and contact the owners to see if they will be willing to host/allow us to host “Welcome Parties” on their locations.
    “Welcome Party” package details will be posted on the forum as a template. Items to include in the package will be reviewed during the *next meeting*
  • Temujin - Bulletin Boards: Where can they be placed? It appears they cannot be placed on the docks in POTs. Can they be placed inside buildings? Can Players post flyers without special permissions? Will re-address next week with results of testing.

    • Grimace – Do the Trial accounts give some kind of in game window advising the visitor player how to upgrade the account to make it permanent; many Visitors are asking about this.

  • Free Trial Test #4: The Free Trial test continues!
    • Reports of some Visitors who have upgraded to a full account still showing the Visitor tag:
      • Noticed that Visitors can join guilds: Wondering if this is causing some Visitors to retain their Visitor title when they upgrade to a full account. (needs to be tested)
      • What happens if a Visitor buys the game while logged in
    • Cannot play offline mode as Visitor (should be able to show off this mode to prospects)
    • Can give visitors permission to place items in a house, but they still cannot place items. (Since housing and deco are key features, they should be able to do this.)
  • Temujin – Main Story line interlacing: Oracle now advises players when they should crossover between the main quest lines when asking about the paths.
  • Justyn - The Quest-giver's blue aura: Not consistently applied to the quest-givers, new players are not catching on to the hint.
  • Quest Line Issues: In general there are issues with the quest lines. EG: Not knowing that you need to talk to NPCs after leaving the Crypt when told to go to Spite and Malice.

  • Please add a warning (like the broken weapon icon) on login 5 or 10 days prior to your house falling due to unpaid taxes. (Maybe send mail in game). Maybe change the icon from Yellow to Red as the deadline approaches
  • The "X" to close a valentine card is red in the middle of the red heart. This should be changed to improve visibility.
  • Change the "Radio Filter" option to read "Radio Static" and change the default option to OFF. (Players think there is something wrong with their audio, or something wrong with the Radio mechanics)

  • Free Trial Test #4: The next Free Trial test (#5) will be 8/9-8/30!
  • Justyn - Falling through the world: A number of reports of players falling through the world. In some cases the player falls into water under the world due to sections of the map not showing. If stuck in the water the player may not be able to recover by using teleport or /stuck. Should look for a town to click on, forcing a zone change.

  • Justyn - Starting Town Events for New Players: Rosemourne held a new player welcome party in Shadows Rest. He plans to have these parties on a monthly basis. Shadows Rest also offers temporary (tax free) housing for players just getting started.
  • Temujin - Got to meet some players helped in Discord in game.
    Players are wondering if there is a way to determine what is safe to loot and what will affect your virtues.
    Players were not aware that they can toggle skills on and off.
    Not aware they can toggle decks with the key bind.
  • Justyn – Players are complaining about guild spam
    Possibly have a way to disable guild invites?

• New Tech Suggestions (for Forums, Discord, Game which might assist new players):
  • Wondering on the ETA for LFG (looking For Group)
  • Add the players guild as a column in the friends menu to assist players looking for someone from a specific guild (would assist when looking someone at an event in progress.)
  • Mechanic to allow events to be listed in Teleport menu (as if the were players). This could be a gold sink; for a cost (1 Coto per x days? etc.)
  • During Free Trial periods add a note about the Shroud of the Avatar Discord server in the MOTD.
  • Create a Guild profile list on the website (to assist players in locating guilds). (would be best if the list was compiled from live game data and controlled by the owner of the guild via the account page on the website.
    • Toggle to include/exclude guild from the list (open/private guild)

• Justyn - Completion of the storyline: Though the story lines are complete (as being in the game), some areas of the story line will still require assistance from other players and use of the bug forums to determine what to do to progress in certain areas while polish and enhancements are completed.
• Strker - Recipes: As per the Release 44 instructions , vendor sold recipes have been re-organized to be sold by the type of vendor the recipes belong to (such as Smithing related are now only sold by a blacksmith)

    • Recipe Locations: This continues to be a hot topic among new and veteran players. EG: What is a drop? Where is recipe "X" bought/found?
    • Possibly post a list of recipes that have been moved from being available via NPC vendor to a PvE loot drop.

  • Calling all Hospitallers!: We discussed getting more visibility for the meetings and Hospitallers in general. How can we prep for Launch and help the helpers? Suggestion to @Berek to advertise the Hospitallers and the meeting on the weekly streams and during the Telethons. To increase awareness and encourage more players to assist others.

• New Tech Suggestions (for Forums, Discord, Game which might assist new players):
  • A "pop-up" reminder (or context tooltip) in game that shows when you select (or hover over) the Hospitaller title, which would explain what the title is intended for (the willingness to assist others). This could also apply to other special titles, like Outlander (The default title: Let the player know if they have this title active Hospitallers are more likely to reach out to them to offer assistance) and Knight of Britannia (ONBE), etc.

  • Meeting date/time: We discussed the possibility of shifting the date and time of the weekly meeting to increase attendance and better serve the global community including a possibility of having separate meetings for each region (centering around 11am regional time EG: Saturday 8pm CT is AUS Sunday 11am and Saturday 5am CT is 11am UK)
  • Stream the meeting: Would show the Discord screen with the Hospitaller chat in focus. Possibly also use the Discord video call? Also proposed is to create a Twitch channel and link the archived video in the meeting minutes. Can be hosted by various SotA streamers to get more visibility.   • Free Trial Test #5: The Free Trial test continues!
  • Guild Invite Spamming: Players have noticed an abundance of blind guild invites occurring in the starter areas. Some examples include a player who ended up accepting an invite after multiple declines just to stop the spam. We are also noticing many visitors who are in guilds already.
    Stryker had someone attempt to guild his alt 2 or 3 times. Maybe had a macro, because the same person was auto attacking the Soltown dummy over and over; no contact, just a guild invite out of nowhere.

  • Scar Face's Hospitaller video: Scar Face has put together a video that details info on how to participate as a Hospitaller:

  • With reference to Guild Invite Spam:
    • One concern is that the guild invite spam is due to players not seeing the invites because they are not coming through - Laz indicated this is a known issue.
    • Possible issue due to lack of audible feedback when a Party/Guild invite is received. Tying a sound to system events may improve this.
    • Many games have an ignore option for guild invites, duels, and trading.
    • The 'ignore player' feature should include ignoring invites for guild, trade and duels if it does not already.

    More details surrounding the implementation of this idea need to be gathered. If we move forward with streaming the meetings, we would need to be consistent (IE: every meeting should be streamed, requiring sufficient alternates with ability to do the stream) . The idea of having some of the SotA streamers host the stream would bring more visibility to the group as well.
    
    When streaming, the meeting would begin with a standardized statement of expectations for the participants. (what Hospitallers and the meeting is about, civil discussion etc.)
    
    The streams, even if hosted by others should be archived on a Hospitaller Youtube/Twitch channel.
    
    
  • Create an in game Hospitaller radio channel: Tie it to the discord channel? (possibly in the future, around launch?)
    
    There may not be enough content to fill a radio channel (even if the content was looped) at this time.
    
    A suggestion to Make Public service Announcements (PSA), which would be distributed to the in game radio stations such as WRFB and Avatars Radio (and maybe SotA streamers) was made. These would be one line announcements
    
    Discussion of who should record the PSAs resulted in an agreement that there should be diversity in the the voice s used in the recordings (Hospitallers and Devs).
    
    Once we have an outline and content, we will approach some of the Devs to possibly participate. suggestions, included items from Scottie, Lum, Lord British and Darkstarr in the form of soundbites from mini-interviews on specific new player related topics.
    
    Over the next couple of meetings we will discuss in greater detail content for this. A suggestion was made that we hold a contest for the PSA recordings from players.
    
    Player created PSAs would be an important aspect of this campaign.
