  • How to use the agriculture skill: A common set of questions is how to use this skill line mechanics and methods.
  • Multiple Entry points: The player does not have to exit the scene from each exit to "discover" it. Just walking near enough to the exit so it shows on the compass will mark it as discovered.
  • "Going Dark": Portalarium will stop updating the live server and will be concentrating on updating the QA server. The live Server will remain up, just no new software updates.

  • SotA Streamers: Areius is working with Berek to help organize a list of SotA Streamers; this will help new players find SotA streams. Ravalox is working with Berek and Kor to create a way for Streamers to enter info into their website profile which will in turn populate a Streamers Schedule page. Lazarus brought up adding a Twitch URL that lists all "Shroud of the Avatar" tagged streams that are currently live (Ravalox will send details to Berek and Kor).
  • Hospitaller PSAs: We are still collecting ideas and verbiage for 30 second - 60 second Public service announcements (advertising the Sunday meetings, remind players that Hospitallers can assist them in game and in Discord, and tips on game mechanics). Please send any verbiage or ideas to @Ravalox. The ideas will be discussed during meetings, and if the originator does not want to record the audio, @Justyn04 has offered to record them!

    These items are being held until we get closer to launch. We review the items periodically to ensure anything actionable is addressed.
  • Meeting date/time: We discussed the possibility of shifting the date and time of the weekly meeting to increase attendance and better serve the global community including a possibility of having separate meetings for each region (centering around 11am regional time EG: Saturday 8pm CT is AUS Sunday 11am and Saturday 5am CT is 11am UK)

    More details surrounding the implementation of this idea need to be gathered. If we move forward with streaming the meetings, we would need to be consistent (IE: every meeting should be streamed, requiring sufficient alternates with ability to do the stream) . The idea of having some of the SotA streamers host the stream would bring more visibility to the group as well.
    
    When streaming, the meeting would begin with a standardized statement of expectations for the participants. (what Hospitallers and the meeting is about, civil discussion etc.) The streams, even if hosted by others should be archived on a Hospitaller Youtube/Twitch channel.
    
    
  • Create an in game Hospitaller radio channel: Tie it to the discord channel? (possibly in the future, around launch?)
    
    There may not be enough content to fill a radio channel (even if the content was looped) at this time.
    A suggestion to Make Public service Announcements (PSA), which would be distributed to the in game radio stations such as WRFB and Avatars Radio (and maybe SotA streamers) was made. These would be one line announcements. Discussion of who should record the PSAs resulted in an agreement that there should be diversity in the the voice s used in the recordings (Hospitallers and Devs).
    
    Once we have an outline and content, we will approach some of the Devs to possibly participate. suggestions, included items from Scottie, Lum, Lord British and Darkstarr in the form of soundbites from mini-interviews on specific new player related topics. Over the next couple of meetings we will discuss in greater detail content for this. A suggestion was made that we hold a contest for the PSA recordings from players. Player created PSAs would be an important aspect of this campaign.

Over the last few months we have added items to the meeting preparing for discussions on what we (Hospitallers) may need to do to prepare for the commercial launch to increase our visibility. Now, with the announcement of the March 27 RC build, we have a more defined time frame with which we have to get ready. So, for this time frame we will be suspending our normal meeting structure as seen in the past minutes.

The goal for the meetings will be to refine and expand methods to bring visibility to the Hospitallers and what we do. This includes Public Service Announcements (PSAs) both recorded and written as well as adjustments to the SotA website text and (possibly) in game events along with other ideas as discussed during the meetings.

Of course we will still bring up and post New Player Experiences as reported by the Hospitallers and post them in the minutes. These interactions are helpful fro the Devs as well as other players who may read the minutes.

A large portion of the meeting will be going around the room for input and status updates. Once the goal of implementing the ideas and methods we discuss are completed, we will revive more of the past (departmental) structure in the meeting and minutes.

New Player Experiences:

• COTOs: when we talk about Crowns Of The Obsidians (COTOs) with new players they often ask if they can get them in game (with In Game Gold (IGG)). We should explain how they could get COTOs (via store, from other players in game, or from loot drops). The COTO drop rate in loot still super low, we understand this can/will change with server population (as per @Chris).
• Trainers: A player asking a trainer in Aerie for the Skeleton Skill got no response from the trainer. This is a skill that can only be obtained from the correct type of master trainer (Death Magic). The lack of response should be submitted as a bug, the trainers should point the player to the correct Master Trainer for any Advanced Technique.

* @Rada Torment : Spent two last weeks playing in low level areas (outskirts most) and found lot new players. In particular we got 2 new trial players in our guild.

We may try to recruit bi-lingual folks to be the leadership in those regions. This would fit into the concept that was raised (and is currently tabled on the minutes) to have multiple meetings based on Regions to allow daytime meeting participation on the other side of the world.

• Meeting date/time: We discussed the possibility of shifting the date and time of the weekly meeting to increase attendance and better serve the global community including a possibility of having separate meetings for each region (centering around 11am regional time EG: Saturday 8pm CT is AUS Sunday 11am and Saturday 5am CT is 11am UK)
  • This item is tabled for the moment, but may become relevant after Commercial Launch.
• Stream the meeting: Would show the Discord screen with the Hospitaller chat in focus. Possibly also use the Discord video call? Also proposed is to create a Twitch channel and link the archived video in the meeting minutes. Can be hosted by various SotA streamers to get more visibility. Possibly have NBNN and Avatars Radio simulcast the meetings as well.
  
  More details surrounding the implementation of this idea need to be gathered. If we move forward with streaming the meetings, we would need to be consistent (IE: every meeting should be streamed, requiring sufficient alternates with ability to do the stream) . The idea of having some of the SotA streamers host the stream would bring more visibility to the group as well.
  
  When streaming, the meeting would begin with a standardized statement of expectations for the participants. (what Hospitallers and the meeting is about, civil discussion etc.) The streams, even if hosted by others should be archived on a Hospitaller Youtube/Twitch channel.

As a reminder, *anyone* can be a Hospitaller! The Hospitallers are not a guild, nor do we recruit for guilds. We offer assistance to any player who has questions in the game, the forums, or in Discord. Any player can wear the Hospitaller title and offer assistance to others.

We have a weekly meeting on Sundays at 11am, which anyone may attend. whether you are a Hospitaller, want to be one, or have a question you haven't been able to find an answer for.

With the impending March 27 RC build, we will be suspending our normal meeting structure as seen in the past posts of our meeting minutes.

The goal for the meetings now will be to refine and expand methods to bring visibility to the Hospitallers and what we do. This includes Public Service Announcements (PSAs) both recorded and written as well as adjustments to the SotA website text and (possibly) in game events along with other ideas as discussed during the meetings.

Of course we will still bring up and post New Player Experiences as reported by the Hospitallers and post them in the minutes. These interactions are helpful for the Devs as well as other players who may read the minutes.

• PSA: To get the word out about the Hospitallers and let the community know who and what we are.
  • Need verbiage for announcements. (can be up to 30 seconds long)

    • Hospitaller meetings on Sunday 11am - all are free to join in
    • How to be a Hospitaller

• SotA main website: Possibility of shifting the Hospitallers information currently under resources to a "Hospitallers" menu item on the Community menu with updated information including the forum section for new players

  • @Ravalox has discussed with @Berek taking over a portion of a weekly Portalarium Livestream (on Fridays @ 4pm CT) to bring visibility to Hospitallers and some tryout some other things... Currently planning for about 30 minutes of community based content (have no issues going for the full hour if we have quality topics and content) allotting about 15 minutes for "An Introduction to Hospitallers (Who, How and Where)", including a live in game walk through tutorial.
    
    Looking for more topics to use during the livestream that new players may find useful.
    
    When? As discussed today, we are thinking the best time to do this would be after Release, targeting mid April. If this is successful, we might want to propose quarterly or monthly community "hi-jacking" of the Port weekly livestream.

(Note: These minutes were posted a week late because @Ravalox had RL issues that prevented a timely posting.)


As a reminder, *anyone* can be a Hospitaller! The Hospitallers (pronounced hos pit ell er) are not a guild, nor do we recruit for guilds. We offer assistance to any player who has questions in the game, the forums, or in Discord. Any player can wear the Hospitaller title and offer assistance to others.

Anyone who participates as a Hospitaller is to be doing so for the benefit of players and not for themselves; meaning Hospitallers will not use their title to recruit for their guild or for in game/RMT financial benefit. Anyone who creates, participates, or is involved in Hospitaller related projects as a result of these meetings understands the results will be available for all Hospitallers to use related to the New Player Experience.

This post is a summary of the discussions held during the weekly meeting we hold on Sundays at 11am, which anyone may attend. Whether you are a Hospitaller, want to be one, or have a question you haven't been able to find an answer for, all are welcome.

New Player Experiences:

• Jack Of Diamonds Air Ship: This is a black market and safe haven for those Outlanders who do not follow the virtues to congregate and fence stolen items. Known access points are the Aerie or Brittany Alleys Docks. @Merrik found that Outlanders who do not meet the criteria for entry can teleport to him while he is on the ship (he "smuggled them in"). This in itself, is not an issue; but the guards and other NPCs on board do not react in a negative manner towards those who are more lawful. Since Merrik's negative standing impacts his interactions with NPCs throughout Novia, he expected that NPCs in a location where he was a touted as a hero would then treat Outlanders on the opposite side of the spectrum with disdain. (a white shrouded player is being saluted in a thieves den)
• Visitors can choose path but can't change path: @Merrik said that "With Release 50, Free Trial users can now choose any of the three paths (Truth, Love, or Courage) to start; but after selection, their path is locked to that one single path." Hospitallers need to make sure they know about this when visitors ask about changing paths ... Everyone should keep up to date!!!
  
• New Player Mining Locations: @Merrik said that new players have been asking where to go to mine and fight where they have a chance at surviving. There are four new player friendly mines in the game; @Merrik will compile a chart to assist Hospitallers in advising new players of where to go for what types of ore etc. We will re-visit this next week.
